The Diary Game Season 3: Celebrating My Mother on her 55th Birthday || Saturday 18th June 2022

It was Saturday, 18th of June, the day my dear mom was brought forth into the world. So I rose early in the morning and after I had freshened up, I set out, left for Ore to celebrate my mom's birthday.

I didn't journey straight to Ore but first branched Ondo where I joined my brothers and sister who were also prepared to go go celebrate my mom.
I joined them so I could reduce the cost of traveling down because one of my brother's had a car with which we traveled from Ondo to Ọrẹ.

I got Ondo pretty early and waited for them until they all got ready and we left. In about 25 minutes, we were already in Ore. We went straight to my younger sister and her husband's house where we stayed for a while. We went there because we had arranged a surprise birthday arrangement for mom. She didn't even knew that we were around.

We left for the family house when all was set. At that time, dad had been convinced to take mom out. They were already with my elder brother in a popular eatery crunches.

So we got home and still made some arrangements before we gave them signal. We were all at alert. The saxophonist who we brought to make the day melodious was also set to play the saxophone.

We waited until the celebrant entered the house. Then the saxophonist started to play his saxophone the birthday song; happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you... and so on. After which he led with his saxophone so me songs that we all danced and rejoice with. After that, hymns were sang, prayers were said and good will messages were given by few. The excitement at my mom's face for the surprise birthday celebration was obvious from the way she looked, so much joy.

It was a day of celebration for us because my mom had just turned 55. For this reason, a cake was prepared for the celebration, pepper meat was prepared with fruits and fried ripe plantain and Cucumber fruit. The foods and drinks was shared among everyone that had gathered. We ate and drank. We snapped pictures in groups with the celebrant and batches marked the ceremony.

At about 3pm, the celebration was over but our native music was played for people who could dance. They danced and merry. It was a joyful moment for all that came for the celebration.

Mom gave her appreciation at the end of the celebration and we all left to relax. People who came from different places left for their homes.

Later in the evening dinner was served and everyone ate. It was a delicious soup with cassava flour already prepared. It was nourishing and refreshing. After I had eaten, I stayed up for a while before later I laid to and rested for the night.
