So Grateful For The Successfully Recovery Of My Steemit Account From Scammer || I Am Glad To Be Back To Steemit Again || I Missed All My Friends Here

Hello Nigerians and fellow steemians, how are you all doing from your end. I am doing amazing from Lagos Nigeria.

I bring you all greeting from Lagos Nigeria, my base.

This is my first post on steemit this 2024 and I am glad to be back here.

Though I should have been back for a while but a couple of circumstances was around, which was a hinderance.

I had some financial challenge which led me to power down some of my steems to sort things out.

My laptop went bad beyond repair and my phone went bad at the same time.

I fixed my phone early January to get back stable online.

And on that faithful day Wednesday 7th February 2024, I wanted to power up some steem so I will resume posting again.

I got about 22 steem, then I had the nudge in my spirit to just transfer 0.6 steem from my binance as against 22 steem to test the transaction.

I had to do that and immediately I sent the steem, I tried logging in again and I discovered that my keys had been changed and instantly the scammer transferred the little balance in my steem out and started a power down.

I didn't click on any link, infact I logged into my wallet before initiating the transactions, so the whole thing happened so fast in a confusing process.

I tried changing my keys, but to no avail. It was really frustrating.

I contacted @ruthjoe and she referred me to @ngoenyi who helped me to contact the steemit team and I was queed for account recovery.

After some investigations on my account I was told the probability of recovering the account is so slim, as the scammer has been on my account for a while now.

Fast-forward to February 19th when I received a call from @ngoenyi that my recovery is being processed and I should receive my recovery mail.

Which I received after few minutes, then I followed the instructions on the mail and got my account back.

Fortunately for me, the first power down by the scammer paid out, but he forgot to move out the funds, so I had to power it up back to my steem power.

I had been so happy since then for my account.

I was already wondering the stress and time that it's gonna take me to arrive at my current reputation and even my wallet balance, before the recovery.

So I am so grateful to @ngoenyi for following up on my account recovery, @ruthjoe and the steemit team for coming through for me and restoring my account at this point.

Though I was impressed by the quick recovery of my account and the whole process, but I would also love to make a suggestion on improved security measures.

My suggestion is that if possible, before keys are changed on a particular account or transactions are completed on any account, a code should be sent to the registered email of the account owner to authenticate the final transaction.

If the above measure is been taken, I believe the rate of scams on account will reduce, just a suggestion though.

In conclusion, I am so glad to be back to steemit, most especially I am happy to have my account back with all my funds still intact.
