My Neighborhood Watch #43 - Reporting Events Around us

Everything happen in life for a reason. On a daily basis, both good and bad things happen. Why do you think the news is always rich and there's no day you won't see an information in the news board? The reports I receive everyday especially as a nurse is debilitating. I hear bad news almost everyday. One of such is what I want to spell out today......

This was quite a sad and good news. The report came to us that this man survived a gas explosion in his house which is currently in ashes now. From the man, he said while cooking stew in his gas cylinder, he wanted adding some ingredients inside the stew when the gas exploded. The gas exploded, pouring what he cooked on his body and then set the kitchen ablaze.

The shock from the explosion affected his brain that he couldn't move or hear well. The fire burnt him so badly before he could move out of the kitchen to call for help. Luckily for him, there were no doors that acted as a barrier between the kitchen and the parlour like in some houses.

Neighbour saw the smoke and immediately rushed in through the main entrance. **They saw this man trying to leave the fire as the fire entered the parlour and rooms. They immediately dragged him out of the fire to safety. Despite their ability or efforts to quench the fire, it was already late. The house collapse and thank God it was a single house, a single one bedroom house.

The bad side is that it was someone's house. What we thank God was his life and the fact that he was in comma. He was rushed to my hospital where he got to receive treatments. The burnt was so bad that he walked naked like a mad man. All his skin was burns.

The nurse took him to the burn section and then tried dressing him. The pain was so immense that the man cried bitterly. I felt for him though and he undergo such pains in getting dressed. I then recalled another instance where something significant happened in my street that shocked the whole town.

It was more like a kidnapping sort of and this kidnapping happened when there was traffic on the market road. From the report I heard, a man was carrying a young lady on a bike and when they stumbled on this traffic, boys came out from the bus to attack the girl but the man didn't allow such happened. He drove fast looking for where to enter but the traffic still blocked him and they caught up with him.

He tried struggling with them when caught up not until they gun men shot him by the head in the middle of the night. He died instantly as they was no recovery. His brain came out from his head and laid on the floor. This was so sad that he had to die this way. I don't really know what happened to the girl if she ran or she got caught.
