To ensure a proper running of activities in an organization, there must be an adequate check on how the journey has been so far, weighing what is working and what is not. This would enable the management to make a well-informed decision on the type of changes that would advance the organization. The same thing applies to the Steem4Nigeria community, we have an important change to make.

Applications Invited for Moderators Role

We have a good number of moderators, and most experienced users but the community still suffers largely in terms of interaction and this has been a major hindrance that has kept us back slightly from being part of some important programs on the platform.

It's necessary to redefine the mode of operation in the community, retain moderators that have done a great job so far, eliminate those that aren't active, and onboard new MODs that are willing to serve for the growth of the community.

Duties of Moderators in the Community

Must be willing to check all available articles in the community (without making it a personal business).
Must be willing to be part of selectors of articles of booming based on quality and in compliance with the booming support rules.
Must be willing to use his or her reviews to correct users that are making some kind of mistakes.
Must be willing to be part of progressive changes in the community.

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must be active Nigerians.
Applicants must have at least 1000 SP and 55 reputation score. And must have spent at least 6 months on Steemit.
Must comply with at least #club5050, be free from bid-bot and not powering down (with no power down history in the past 30 days).
Must not be repeated plagiarist offender or reward farmer.

How to Apply?

Write an application of at least 300 words with the title Application for Moderator in Steem4Nigeria. Use the tag #steem4nigeria-mod in the first four tags (this would be used primarily for the tracking of applications).
Share about your journey on the platform.
Highlight some important positions you have held before.
Include your account's basic stats.
Why do you think you are suitable for the role?
Application closes on the 27th of February, at 23:59 UTC.

Rewards

Steem4Nigeria is a non-profit community as such we may not be able to offer much to the moderators, we are looking forward to people who have a deep love of the community in their hearts.

We would be setting beneficiaries from our official account to moderators (the scheme would be revealed after the recruitment process).
Nominations of MODs articles for booming support.
Other rewards may be included in the long run.

The rewards would solely be based on the performance of the moderators over time (kindly take note).

Who would be Selected?

Everyone that meets the requirements highlighted earlier would be considered for the role but not all would be selected. For existing MODS, their past performance would play an important role in their selection for the incoming phase.

That said, all MODs' permission would be revoked during the process and would only be reinstated for those that are chosen again (pending the release, they can still continue their job). We only want a minimum size of dedicated MODs in the community and also reserve every right to eliminate any inactive MOD at any time.
