My Neighborhood Watch #81—Reporting Events Around Us
HOW I MET THIS BIG TORTOISE 🐢
It was an ordinary day until my friend Kara called me, asking for a favor. He wanted me to take his pre-birthday photos and I happily agreed. We set out to find the perfect location, scouting for a spot with an attractive background. After some deliberation we decided on a nearby compound, the house of the former Minister of information [Labaran Maku], situated in Akwanga Local Government.
It was actually my first time entering the compound, as we entered, I was struck by the serene beauty of the garden. The fenced bungalow house, accompanied by a church building and lush greenery, provided an ideal setting for our photo shoot. Palm trees swayed gently in the breeze, and vibrant flowers added splashes of color to the scenery, I was like wow! this is perfect.
I carefully positioned my friend to capture the perfect shot, taking advantage of the soft, natural light. Just as we began taking photos, I noticed something unusual in the garden. My eyes widened in astonishment as I exclaimed, OMG! What is that?" It was a massive tortoise, roaming freely and munching on the grass.
I had never seen a tortoise of such enormity in real life, although I had caught glimpses of them on wildlife documentaries. As we approached, the tortoise sensing our presence, began to retreat into its shell.

I cautiously took a few steps closer with my camera and snapped couple of photos. Not wanting to disturb this gentle giant further, I let it wander peacefully. As we left the compound, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the unexpected encounter with this incredible creature.
I wish to invite @bennyblack and @josepha to participate in this contest
