Steem4nigeria Accelerator Contest Week 65: What if I didn't know Steemit?

Greetings, friends, and welcome to my participation in this week's accelerators contest, where I will be sharing my experience and the gifts of this wonderful platform as I attend to the hints provided.

Before you were introduced to steemit, what digital or physical work did you base your income on?

---

Before I was introduced to this great platform, Steemit, by a family friend who for some time has been inactive, I was just surfing the internet to try and make some extra cash online. I tried out various methods starting with sports betting. It seemed like a more approachable option compared to other ways I was looking into. I liked the idea of betting on sports because it felt familiar and a little more straightforward.

On the other hand, I also tried my hands on affiliate marketing. The concept seemed great to me at first as I looked to promote products and earn a commission for each sale. However, I realized that most of the affiliate programs I came across were foreign-based, which made it tough for me to navigate as the different market dynamics made it challenging for me to get involved. I just couldn’t make it work for me, and I felt frustrated, so I stopped.

So, I was stuck with sports betting for a while. It was a bit friendlier and easier to understand as I could follow my favorite sports and teams while trying to make some money on the side. It wasn't perfect, but it felt like a more natural fit for me at the time.

Have you been a victim of online scams? Is steemit a breakthrough?

With all my ways of making money or seeking financial freedom online, it is quite interesting to note that I've never been a victim of an online scam. While many people I know share stories of how they lost money online or how they got tricked, I have managed to steer clear of those pitfalls as I said to myself that I would never use my own hard earned money to give someone else in order to expect more, so I have always been cautious before diving into anything online.

Since I was introduced to Steemit in 2021, everything has changed for me. It is indeed a breakthrough for me as it has opened up a whole new world of opportunities for me. I found a platform where I could share my thoughts without having to give anyone my money as investment and earn rewards for my contributions and also learn from others. Hence, it is refreshing to engage with a community that values creativity and genuine interaction.

Being part of Steemit has not only helped me financially as it has helped me achieved so many wonderful things and has also connected me with different individuals who inspire me daily. Therefore, I know how fortunate I am to have found Steemit, and I’m excited about what is coming.

Do you prefer writing on Steemit for a month in your home to working under someone for a month under duress?

Considering the two situations given, I can proudly say that I prefer writing on Steemit for a month in the comfort of my home rather than working under someone else for the same amount of time, especially when that work feels like a burden. There is something freeing about expressing my thoughts and creativity on Steemit, it is a place where I get to write at my own pace, choose the topics that matter to me, and connect with a community that appreciates my work.

On the other hand, working for someone else often comes with pressure to deliver which stresses you up and I'm never good under pressure. This is because being under duress can be overwhelming, and it takes away the joy of what I’m doing. Writing at the comfort of my home gives me the flexibility to create in a space that feels safe and inspiring. I love the idea of building my own path rather than following someone else's rules. It's a choice that brings me happiness and fulfillment, and I wouldn't trade that for anything.

Has steemit made you a bit independent financially than how you were? If yes or no, how and why? Explain with reasons

Steemit has changed my life, especially when it comes to my finances, because before I found this platform, I often felt stuck, relying on my dad and relatives or taking on hard labour like carrying blocks on building sites. I was always worried about making ends meet, and it felt like I was just going through the motions.

But then, as I started writing on Steemit, although things were tough in the beginning as I was still finding my way, but as time went on, certain things changed especially many things shifted for me for good. I was given the chance to earn money and also save for the near future. I can write about what I love, whether it is my very own reflections on life or my insights on various topics, and get rewarded for it. This has not only helped me financially but has also boosted my confidence (even though I am still very much a shy person).

Now, thanks to Steemit, I feel a bit more independent as I get to earn at my own pace, and I don’t have to rely solely on my parents and relatives or carry out hard labour. Therefore, Steemit has truly been a game-changer for me.

I can't imagine my life without Steemit right now, because when I think of my life without Steemit, how hard it was. I used to feel saddened when relatives did not herd to my pleas or seeing myself do hard labour. The truth is I believe God would have made another way for me but then without Steemit, I wouldn’t have experienced the joy of sharing my ideas and the freedom that comes with earning on my own terms.
