SEC WK2 : The language in my country
Hello friends, I hope you are all well. I am also well because of the infinite mercy of God. Once again, I come to you to participate in this amazing topic of the second week of the Steemit Engagement Challenge. Through today's challenge, I will share with you about the language in my country.
What is the name of your country? How many languages can be found in your country?
My country name is Bangladesh. Earlier this country was known by other names. Our country is named after our mother tongue. Because the Bengali nation had to make many sacrifices to protect the rights of this language. This language was acquired in exchange for the fresh blood of language martyrs, so after the declaration of independence, our country was named Bangladesh.
There is no specific information about how many languages are currently spoken in our country because people of some languages have entered our country for various reasons including refugee infiltration. (For example, the Rohingya crisis issue in 2017). Apart from the pure Bengali language, there are more than 30+ types of people speaking regional languages based on different divisions in our country with small minorities.
Among the listed languages in your country, how many are you familiar with?
I am familiar with only two of the listed languages. One is the common pure Bengali language and the other is the division in which I live i.e. Chittagonion language.
Yes I know English and Arabic language but I am not very fluent in speaking them. And in our country these languages are not used by people in their daily interactions with each other except in special cases.
So I use English and Arabic in all the special places where they are needed. And with my family and people I know in my area, I speak the regional language Chittagonion and when I go outside the area or with strangers I speak the common Bengali language.
How has this language improved/helped your life and business?
I use these languages in my daily conversation with countless people. Since I am involved in our family business, I have to talk to various people, both acquaintances and strangers, on a regular basis. My regional Chittagong language has helped me a lot especially in business. Because almost all local people of our area speak this language. So I get special advantage in interaction, transaction and business with them in this language.
Secondly pure Bengali language has enriched and developed my personal life. This language is common for every people of our country. So whenever I go to different districts outside the city, I speak this language with the people there so I can interact with different people and learn different things from them. And the trend of every people of our country is that they use their own regional language in their area and the common language Bengali in other areas, I am one of them.
Are you willing to teach your children these languages? Yes/No. State your reason
In fact, the truth is that the use of regional languages is decreasing with time. People now prefer to stick to the standard so nowadays most of the parents teach their children to speak pure Bengali from an early age even if they speak the regional language themselves. I don't see anything wrong in this because if someone has to study or do something outside his own area then he must know pure Bengali language because it is the common language of all the people of our country. That's why pure Bengali language is gradually replacing the place of regional language in all divisions. So I am willing to teach children English language along with pure Bengali language because these will keep them ahead in everything in future.

Es bueno conocer más de un idioma ya que le da la oportunidad de defenderse mejor tanto en nivel de educación como laborales
Y enseñar a nuestros hijos para que ellos también tengan oportunidades de estudio y trabajo.
Éxito
