Family planning as an intervention method sets up by the government of a country or Non-governmental organisation (NGO's) and to control birth rate so that the total population would not be in excess above the available resources can be of both advantage and disadvantage. The advantage is the control of birth rate preventing overpopulation while the disadvantage is the shortest in labour force and the economic effect of less people to produce and consume products

What do you understand about Family Planning?

Family planning is birth control method organise by the government of a country or the NGO's, to put the population of a given country under control. Another name for family planning is birth control. The international organisations such as world Health Organisation, Society for Family Health and other agencies collaborate with the government to organise health programmes and campaigns awareness for family planning in a country with drug supply and implementation.

Do you think countries should regulate their population using Family Planning? How do you think that will help them? Explain.

I think the population of a given country should be kept under check so that the population won't be higher than the available resources. This can be done by creating awareness where the citizens are properly educated on the need to have family planning but shouldn't be an enforcement against their will like China did.

This can help families produce children they can comfortably cater for this reduce burden on government. Secondly, if population is regulated, there could be reduction in social crimes and the jobs available would be enough for the number of the potential population.

Do you encourage family planning? Tell us your reasons.

Yes I do encourage family planning by educating people on the need for them to have children by choice and not by chance so that they can take care of them. But I wouldn't put pressure on someone to get a family planning. It should be a thing of choice.
Family planning helps family to have children they can control and properly take care of their overall basic needs. It also helps save life especially that of women.

Some family planning methods are

Contraceptive Pill

This comes in many brands. The well known is Mycrogynon pills - a 30 days pill to be taken everyday. It controls estrogens and progesterone which blocks ovulation.

Condom (For male and Female)

Condom is latex worn by men on the erected penis while women women insert female condom to cover the cervix and the outer layer of the vag to prevent sperm entrance and for protection.

Intrauterine Device (IUD)

This is a device inserted into the uterus to prevent sperm from entering the uterus to fertilise the egg. This devise is T-shaped in nature and not 100% sure in preventing pregnancy as babies used to born holding them at hand.

Injection

This is in a brand called depo-provera given to the women through intramuscular route. Another one is Sayana Press; this is self injectable birth control where the woman inject herself through the thigh without the help of health provider.

Implants

This invasive method of family planning is a brand with flexible drug-like rod placed under the skin of the upper right hand to prevent ovulation and can last longer up to 3-5 years.

Natural Method

This is called fertility awareness where couple monitor and tracking the female menstrual cycle to determine fertile days for sexual abstinence otherwise using a withdrawal method to prevent pregnancy by chance.

Family planning effects on nation's population and the economy are in two basical ways;It would keep the population under check and control preventing overpopulation or population explosion.

while the disadvantage is the shortest in labour force and the drastic reduction in population density which would affect the economy in terms of demand and supply as there's less people for production and consumption.
