My Dairy Game: Assisting my mom at home

Hello my fellow steemians @steem4nigeria ,I'm happy to be here, today I want to be sharing my diary to y'all on 20th January 2025 on how my day went.

My whole diary gist is about my staying at the village to assist my mom with some house chores and it is really nice here cause I've being relieving my mom with lot stress at home here .

So you guys I'm so excited to be here and I can't really express my self being of help and assistance to my mom at the moment, so as I woke up early in the morning at our home we always gather and read from our daily text and close with prayer 🤲 and honestly I can't really express the joy in me cause it has been awhile I sat with my family to conduct our daily text .

So after the morning text being the only daughter of the house I went outside to tidy our surrounding (sweeping) and then after I was done I went to the kitchen to pack out all the dirty dishes to wash them all . And then I had to go through my phone to check if I've messages on my social media handles, while I was replying to my messages my mom told me that I'll be assisting her to cook our native soup (Afang soup) and then I was so happy cause that's one of my favorite.

After I was done replying my messages it was very important I must say 🤭😜,I had to go to our garden where we plant some vegetables like water leaves, pumpkin etc to pluck water leaves which was used to cook our native soup

While I was in the garden I noticed that the vegetables were so fresh and good looking and then I asked my mom if she had applied fertilizer to the vegetables and then she replied no ,that she has only been watering the vegetables twice in a day . I was so shocked thinking that fertilizer was applied to it.So after hearing this I did what I came for by plucking the water leaves for the soup.

After I was done picking out the wateleaves in the garden I went back to the kitchen and wash it so that I'll be slicing it.

My mom decided to help me slice the water leaves so that I'll start slicing our afang leaves to make it easier and fast , I was happy though for the assist form my mom cause she was to cook the soup while I was to prepare everything that'll be used to cook the soup .

As I finished with slicing the Afang leaves I had to pound the sliced leaves with pistol and mortar. And then I was done with the pounding of the leaves I had to start preparing other food stuffs that will be used for cooking. I had to steam the meat , pound peppers and crayfish with other ingredients so that my mom will take over from there.

After all the preparation my mom took over from there and I was released abit,so I went inside to lie down waiting for my mom to finish cooking the Afang soup , after 40 minutes time my mom was done cooking the soup and then I went to the kitchen to boil water that will be used to make garri . So I waited for the water to boil so that I'll use it to make the garri , after making the garri my mom dished out my food to eat

After eating my mom food was so palatable and I enjoyed it so much,then I went to bed to lie down and rest surprisingly I checked my phone and it was 2pm but I still rested for 1hr ,so after resting I came out and i saw my mom selecting palm fruit so that she'll cook it the following and then I asked my mom to leave the palm fruit that'll select it with my younger brother wisdom and she was so happy to hear that .

And then I started selecting the palm fruit after a long period of time. The palms fruit is used to make palm oil at my side that's used to cook food especially soups.

So guys after I was done selecting the palm fruit,I had to tidy the surrounding to look neat, so after that I decided to take my bath and go to sleep because I was so tired and exhausted .So guys that's how my day went
