My Habits And Me
Hello, guys. It's another fun time on this very platform, and I welcome you to my blog. Today's discussion is on habit so let me entertain you with my entry...
Habits are either automatic or learned behaviors that can greatly impact our lives, empower or limit us. They are frequent customary actions of an individual that are hard to give up on. Most times these habits unconsciously built and then we see ourselves repeatedly exhibiting these habits. Of course there are!. I was raised by a very strict and neat mother in the rural area. We exposed to various agricultural practices and as we well comes with stains. Our mother not only trained us on neatness but in us such that every now and then we maintained high degree of neatness regardless of the dirty works exposed to. Maintaining neatness was beyond one's self, the home and environment was carried along. It became a routine to always tidy up every nook and cranny of the house and environment before one leaves the house because coming back will be late in the evening. It then became part of to ensure that my home and environment are well kempt before leaving every morning regardless of where am going. Another thing that accompanied this habit is waking up early because since I will have to tidy up the home and it's surroundings I will always wake up on time. Any day I accidentally got out of bed late, am sure of going out late no matter where am going be it work, school, or church because I can't skip tidying of the house. My husband has complained about some lateness resulting from this habit but to no avail. Another habit that I naturally have is not visiting people, well this could be because am a kinda introvert. My friends, colleagues even relatives will always complain about not visiting them even they visited me once in a while. Thank goodness it didn't affect courtship because I, then, never visited my proposed husband - he was and has remained very understandable. My colleagues will count me out each time they are planning for an social outing. It's not really like I avoid people or don't want to mingle but it's just part of my and am okay with it just that I will always apologize any time there's a complaint. Waking Up Very Early I can't be asleep till 5am not matter when I went to sleep, once it's time, am awake. If it's a working day I'll commence with my routine, get breakfast ready, the kids are not left out and kudos to my darling husband that takes part in all these. If it's not a working day, I may choose to be in bed but awake until when I feel like getting out. I don't wake up late just that sometimes I struggle to get up and out of the bed, this is usually because of the overstress of the previous day and when this happens, lateness will be the order of the day. Not Keeping Late Hours I didn't have time for any body so it was a triangular movement for as an up-growing girl, from to work, to church and back to the house. At teen when I gradually started learning to associate, I dear not stay outside beyond 5pm. Today, colleagues addresses madam 5pm because work closes by 5pm and once it's 5pm am done and dusted whatever you are talking about is your business. My happy home has ameliorated this habit because any moment I remembers home when am away, I become uncomfortable and wants to go home. Definitely, habits can be cultivated over time though some habits are hereditary in nature like my eating of fruits, which I didn't mention, I got it from my dad. Yes, habits can be learnt, most people get influenced by the people they watch, associate with, or see as a role model, from there they get to copy those habits that interest them. My husband, from stories, while he was growing up never liked reading though very brilliant but as time goes he became a reading freak. My kid brother even at his teen hardly takes his bath or wash his, it was usually a tug to take a bath or wash his clothes and was seen as the dirtiest person in the house. Today the same person is a fashion designer and has appeared on several fashion magazines. This is my entry and thanks for reading through, am inviting @ninapenda, @chilaw and @xkool24 |
