This is another opportunity to give my neighborhood watch report and, once again, I am delighted to give mine. I live in Port Harcourt and here is my neighborhood watch report:

Crowded banks

The banks in my neighborhood are crowded with people. There are so many people inside the bank. This huge population inside the banks most time spills to the outside. One could see a huge crowd gathered outside the gate waiting and hoping for their turn to come. It is a serious situation. Because the banks are always crowded, scores of people are usually present at the banks' surroundings as early as 6am.

One reason for the emergence of crowds in the banks is the surprising scarcity of cash. The festive season is here and, all of a sudden, cash is now scarce. To make things worse, even the banks don't have enough cash. ATMs do not have cash in them, and even when customers go inside the bank to manually withdraw money, they are either given an amount less than what they want or they are told that the cash is finished.

The situation is frustrating as people need cash, especially during this period for various purposes. I hope it is resolved on time.

Weather report: Harmattan is here

Well, it took quite some time, but the harmattan is finally here. It has been windy and dry today. I noticed my lips getting dry. I also noticed how the clothes I washed dried up within hours.

For me, harmattan just sets the mood for Christmas. It brings nostalgia. That's why the harmattan is my favourite weather. I would have to deal with the dust and dryness, but then, I love the wind that follows, and I am ready to enjoy it.

Booming businesses

One thing that characterizes the festive period is booming businesses. Most shops and business centers are now seeing more business activities. I can see a lot of shops within the neighborhood witnessing an influx of customers. Business activities are just booming everywhere. A good reason could be because, as the year is about to end, people are trying to get the things they saved up money for throughout the year. People are also trying to stock up their houses.

In general, a lot of buying and selling is going on in this period. A lot of transactions are going on, and I can predict that it is in anticipation of the festivities.

That is my neighborhood watch report. I hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for reading.

I am inviting @mesola, @radleking and @smartlouis to participate.
