Steem4nigeria Accelerator Contest Week 67: My Views About The Upcoming Nigerian National Meetup
Introduction
A lone tree in a desert or any place at all can easily be flown down by winds because it has no support. Take a palm tree or coconut tree for instance that stands alone without a nearby tree or house, a strong wind that lashes on it continuously can push it down without mercy.
Picture another tree that found itself in a forest, among so many other trees. Such can hardly fall no matter how strong the wind is. This is because the wind will be distributed among the tress instead of being born by only one tree.
Hardships and harsh economic conditions can be more severe if it's just one person that is shouldering the responsibilities for many dependent relatives. But the impact will be less when there are so many to bear it.
Steemit is a social media platform. It brings people together and they bond together even when they haven't met for the first time. Merely reading someone's publications can bring you closer to that person because you must have learnt a lot about the person from shared publications. That is why publications like the diary game is a top notch when it comes to learning about ones daily routines.
If publications can draw people closer to each other even without seeing the person, how much more so will meet up? The bond will be even more.
Meetup in relative to Steemit
Meetup is the coming together of people with like minds or that share the same purpose for the purpose of encouragement, and learning, fostering great relationships and inspiration. On Steemit, it means meeting those individuals you have known only online or even physically for a set purpose. It can be small or huge. It can involve few steemians or crowd of steemians.
Hence, meetup in relative to Steemit means that people from Steemit, coming together physically or virtually for the purpose of encouragement and learning. It is very important that steemians meet together for survival just like trees survive more when they are together. They develop resilience and bond and they learn more from each other as they bond together.
We understand that our journey here on Steemit is not an easy one. And it is not something one can do in isolation. It therefore follows that we need each other to survive.
When new ones becomes many, it is usually necessary to get to know them and help them understand the seriousness of being genuine. Sometimes it's not just what a recruiter can do. When so many people talk about it to new recruits, it sinks deeper and becomes more genuine to them. They will fully understand the seriousness of it.
I have attended so many Steemit meetups in the past, most of which I personally organised. It was in the form of promotion, recreation, learning, launching, charity and so on. They were means of getting familiar with each other and knowing that we are real and genuine people who are also interested in the success of others and who will want to learn how to grow on Steemit.
My past meet ups
Meetups in the past helped a lot of steemians to be more active as they learn how others have been pushing forward and enjoying the journey. It has been also a means by which Steemit is promoted in the locality or beyond where it is held. I can vividly recall that it was meetup that helped me to know that we have other steemians here in my city of residence when it looked as if I was alone during my early days here on Steemit. I got to know so many of them and I was greatly encouraged. Others were as well encouraged through that means.
For the social aspects, I had in the past organised meetups for football games, celebration of achievements/milestones, celebrations of anniversaries and many others. In fact, I do enjoy meetups, unless I didn't hear of it, that's the only way I won't be in attendance. I love meetups in short. The last I attended was the celebration of @bossj23's dolphin 🐬 🐬 🐬 achievement. It was massive!

Justifications for the upcoming National meetup
Recently, it looks like we have so many newbies on the platform and it has been a while a general meetup was help in Nigeria. Additionally, with so many new developments on the blog especially the learning challenge and the likes, it becomes very important that steemians meet together.
Why this particular upcoming National meetup is very important is the fact that it's going to be National. An opportunity to meet those I haven't met for the first time which it would have been impossible to meet them even in the future.
Ever since the Inception of Steem4nigeria, it hasn't supported any meetup as a community that binds users together who are from Nigeria, this is the starting point and many users will get to know the people behind the community in person.
Steem kids and parents community on the other hand, though had held meetups in the past for the purpose of celebrating it's anniversaries, haven't collaborated with anyone or any community to hold a meetup of this nature. It is very important that it is done to show members that they care and value them.
It is also timely to meet up especially towards the end of the years to be able to share our experiences we had had during the year as well as our achievements and this encourage members and fellow steemians to brace up for the year that is coming. It is also an avenue to refresh and share happiness because shared happiness lasts longer in our memories. Yes, the upcoming National meetup is necessary
Meeting fellow steemians
I have been opportuned to meet a lot of steemians in the past via meetups both virtually and physically. But I still have so many that I haven't met in person even though they live close to me. I will like to take advantage of this upcoming National meetup to get to see and meet @bonaventure @sahmie @xkool24 @richy20 @rossnenye and @simonnwigwe among others. It will be a wonderful thing to get to meet up with them and share so many things with them. I can't wait!
The dilemma of dreaming to meet steemcurator01
One thing I don't like is someone hyping my emotions and later I will be disappointed. I don't believe it's even possible to get to see steemcurator01 in a meetup talk more of seeing him in Nigeria. You know that I can't control my emotions when I get to see the user or the person behind that username. I will jump on top of myself, I will leap for joy, I will scream for passerby to come close to ask what is happening and I will also cry.
But all these are just fantasies. He or she won't even show up. Or will you come? I wish he or she will, it would have been a very wonderful way to conclude this year for me. Will I kiss him/her? Will I huge him/her? Will I jump on him? These will be under statements. But I will try not to embarrass him with my reactions and emotions to show how matured I am. Please tell him to come if you know him, it will make a difference. I have so many questions to ask him. I can't wait!
Conclusion
The importance of meetups can never be emphasized. Meetups have a way of bonding fellow steemians together and helping them to learn new things and as well assisting both new and old to keep moving. It can also be a great avenue of learning and interaction.
It can foster great relationships that can last longer than expected. When you happen to hear that there is going to be a meetup, especially the type that is coming up, don't miss out. Plan to attend. Don't be told because it's going to be great and will surpass the experiences we had had in the past while meeting up. Let's meetup dear steemians, yes, don't be told!
I invite @okere-blessing @drhira and @impersonal to take part in this contest. I wish you success
This is my introductory post here
I feel the scent of the season coming close to the moment of our celebration, I have begun to attend meetups and I can't stop now, I will continue to attend even momentary steemians celebrations, the second time you saw nsijoro was in bossj23 anniversary and I will show up this time come rain come shine, my polo is ready that's my greatest joy, just like the quote you placed above I am sure we become stronger when we meetup, nothing can ever pull us down, our strength, firmness and stability lies in our unity.
As for meeting steemcurator01 and steemcurator02, I know they will be there in absentia; I believe we will meet them; I am happy that not only do the vote come, but the comments and interactions they have begun are making everything come alive. They will be present to see our activities; if only we could go live on Steemit like other media, I know they would love to live stream; nevertheless, thank God for YouTube and our cameras; they will see through everything if only our device memory will contain. 2 days left and it seems my heart is beeping 120 per sec.

What a detailed and inspiring comment! I can see through your comment that you love meetups and you won't fail to be there this time.
As for streaming it, we will have to look at doing that. Let's see how it goes
If we can cover all the moment space won't be a problem because I can compress the videos and the quality will remain the same reducing the space we use, I just feel all steemians present should charge their device in preparation for this, because it will be massive
