Have you ever been alone? Have you ever feel alone or lonely? Do you know the good that friendship can do to you as a person? Are you sociable?
Well, we are all humans and we are all created as social animals. We thrive in the company of others. Most of us joined steemit because our friends told us about it or we simply found it on our own.
But do you know that we can't succeed in steemit without others? The simple truth is that steemit is a Blockchain based social media platform that helps us earn when our friends upvote us. Yes, friends!
We all know that it is very wrong to upvote ourselves and to even be the ones to comment on our publications. We can only depend on others to do so and when they do, we feel happy and fulfilled.
Today on this topic, I will like to write on the importance of engagement and interaction.
Engagement/Interaction
When was the last time you left a comment on other people's publications?
When was the last time you received a comment on your publications?
When was the last time you replied to a comment or responded to a reply on comment?
What is engagement in steemit?
It is your measure of or interactions with others in the community. The extent to which you communicate with your fellow steemians in the community.
No one is an island. So long as we want to succeed in steemit or even any other social media platforms, we must have dealings with others.
Our success in steemit depends on how we interact with others. It depends on how many persons are our friends or we know or that know us.
It depends on the extent we can go to reach out to others and interact with them.
How to engage/interact with others
✓ Comments
When a post or publication is created, it is expected that we read that publication, and then leave a comment that can engage the writer. What I mean is that we need to always look out for when our friends drop a publication so that we can comment on it.
Our comment needs to be meaningful and must have something to do with the publication we have read. When for instance we read a publication on diary game, we read about the activities a user took part in within the day, we need to pick out two or three things from what we have read and talk about them. Comment is a short publication. So it has to make sense. There must be points that you need to make that is part of what the writer has written in his publication.
Like in this case of diary game, it could be the food the person ate, the weather, the places the person went to or any other thing that the writer included in his or her publication. Point them out and tell how you like them, commend the efforts the writer made in putting up such a publication and even offer a recommendation if there is. Write in a way that the writer will be glad that you visited and can be able to respond.
On a daily basis, we are expected to comment on at least 10 publications in a meaningful way. Imagine if you are able to make 10 comments in a day, it means you have made 10 friends or have warmed your previous relationships. If you continue that way, then imagine what will happen if you drop your own publications. There is no magic to it that your own publications will be flooded with comments. The reason is because we tend to follow those who follow us and we will be drawn to them.
∆ How to comment on Publications
For the purpose of the newbies, if you want to comment on other people's publications, just head over to the foot of the post and click reply
Then a writing page will open for you to type in the comment according to the idea you have gotten from reading that particular post.
Please, let's always try to be positive in our comments and encouraging. Even if there is something wrong with the publication, we can correct mildly.
✓ Replies
Another wonderful way to interact with others is through your replies. Yes, when someone try hard to drop a comment on your publication, it is very good to respond to the comment. That response is what is known as replies. Your response should be according to what a person commented on or any other relevant information that will prompt the user to even respond again. Just take a look at the interactions between @beautybb and I under my post here. The screenshot below Is just part of the interactions. It continued.
The truth is that, we love to talk to our friends and we can do that right here in steemit, in comments and replies.
✓ Upvotes
Another important way to engage or interact with other here in steemit is through upvotes. When we have read a publication that interests us, it is good that we click the upvote button. This encourages the writer the more especially as we can make the writer earn from upvotes. Our upvotes count no matter how little a value we have added. We must try hard to upvote the publication we have read and love.
As much ass you will want others to upvote you, upvote them too. It will not be bad if you tell them in the comments that you love their publication and that you have upvoted them to show how you love it.
Make others feel happy through your upvotes. And do you know how you can do that? Just look at the screenshot below. Always hit that button I have marked
That green button is called the upvote button. Once you hit it, then you have upvoted that publication.
The benefits of engagements /Interactions in steemit
We will build our own audience of friends who will always be there for you to encourage you.
We will receive upvotes from the community curators or from the chief curators. It is true that upvotes are not guaranteed. But it is one of the criteria for receiving supports.
I was going through a publication and this comment on a publication
I don't know if you have seen such comment before. What that simply means is that that user have missed that upvote. What if the user have a lot of friends or had built his or her own audience sauce that as soon as the publication is posted they left their comments already on it? Then such wouldn't have been the case, the upvote wouldn't have been missed.
