Steem4Nigeria Engagement Challenge Season 5, Week 1 - Elections In My Country, Indonesia

in Steem4Nigeria2 years ago

Of course, this discussion is very energy-consuming to think critically and be innovative in conveying information. I don't understand the flow of politics in my country. The theme of this contest made me interested in reading some literature about elections in my country. And I will write this article based on my experience in the 2019 general election.

In general, elections are a method used to elect someone to hold a certain desired political office. Each country has a different election method. It all depends on the system of government adopted by each country. Indonesia adheres to a democratic political system. And this is the election in our country. Let's read to the end!

Tell us the governance type in your country and how effective you think it has been in running the country's affairs.

The form of government in Indonesia is the Republic, while the system of government itself is presidential. Indonesia or the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) adheres to a presidential system by making the President head of state as well as head of government.

The form of government of my country is a constitutional republic with a presidential system of government. The highest power in my country is held by the President. He runs a government based on the Constitution. To ease the burden on the president, he is assisted by the vice president. Each president has a five-year term. And he can only be president for two terms in his life.

In Indonesia, the president is elected transparently through general elections held every five years. The president and vice president are held by political parties.

What are the election methods employed in your country and do you consider them effective? Do you also participate in the Exercise?

Elections are a people's party for countries that adhere to a democratic political system. The election method used is by voting from the people. For the elections to be peaceful, the Indonesian state formed a body called BAWASLU, or the Election Supervisory Body.

Share your recent experience in participating in one. Rate the process- fair, good, or bad.

Since Indonesia officially became a state, elections in Indonesia have been held dozens of times. However, due to my young age, I only had the opportunity to vote for presidential and governor candidates.

My heart skipped a beat when I chose it. Because the figure I choose will determine how Indonesia will be in the future. Apart from listening to information from campaigns conducted by political parties, I also read several sources before making up my mind to vote for them. That's a glimpse of my election experience.

Would you suggest a method of electing leaders to power? Discuss your method.

I think the current electoral system is good. However, it would be better if we continue to improve to minimize the percentage of post-election riots. I'm proud of Indonesia. Indonesia is an archipelagic country that is very tolerant of the world. We can live side by side with each other from various ethnic, linguistic, and religious backgrounds.

Would you prefer other forms of governance different from the one you have already and why?

I am comfortable with this government. However, it would be nice if the power holders in this country continue to improve to make Indonesia better in the future.

That's my post for this contest. I invite @asiahaiss, @patjewell, and @ngoenyi to participate in this contest. Thanks to the Steemit team for supporting me and all my Steemian friends. I appreciate it. My dream of becoming an orca step by step became more real.

The Indonesian system of government is an interesting one with the president in charge and the vice president assisting. Its nice that you're satisfied with the system. Of course, one can only hope that the system gets even better.

You are right, @mato445

Hola amiga.

Thanks dear
