My Neighborhood Watch #41 - Reporting Events Around us
Another neighborhood contest. This one tends to be more mournful than others. Before moving further, I'll love to drop an update concerning last report. The guy I told you that was beaten mercilessly for robbing someone's house in broad daylight died in the hospital. They were trying to revive him for the beatings but wasn't able as they said he has some vital organs broken in his body.
I didn't feel for him no doubt because when these **thieves or robbers come after you at night, it's either they rape you or beat you so hard without mercy. They may even kill you in the process. This brought about the saying, 99 days for the thief and one day for the owner.
This report will focus on two robbery cases which has sad consequences as the case may be.
Burning a University Student to Ashes |

On a Friday morning, a news or report was spread that a university student was caught stealing someone's phone and laptop. He was caught by the wrong people and people they caught him don't spare theives because of what these thieves have done to them. They don't hear sorry as well. They caught this student unexpectedly and there was no way he could free himself. They best the hell out of this student with irons, woods, stone and finally resolved to burn him. He stole in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Who knows if he is responsible for the massive stealing of phones especially on campus? Nemesis has eventually caught up with him. He was burnt to Ashes that majority couldn't save him from the wrath of those guys. Majority were wailing but to no avail. He couldn't be saved. Before policemen came, all the men that burnt him had left the place.
I felt for the boy but his sins had caught up with him. I didn't really feel for him no doubt because I may not know how many people he has stolen from either no conscience.

On a Sunday morning, I heard a news that my aunt was robbed. I never expected that they would ever be robbed because they are living in an estate with tight securities. They robbed them and their neighbours.
It was so painful because the fear of having such robbers in your home is distressing and can lead to trauma. The good thing was that they weren't harm and their money weren't collected, only their phones. I do imagine. Someone will just waste his time the whole day, suffering to make money but when you're home to rest, another is planning to steal what you made. How unfair life could be. Oh my goodness, that's such a tragic incident. So, on a Friday morning, there was news or a report going around about a university student who got caught stealing someone's phone and laptop. But he got caught by the wrong people, and these folks don't mess around when it comes to thieves. They've probably had bad experiences with thieves in the past, so they don't show any mercy.
Unfortunately, this student was caught off guard and there was no way for him to escape. The people who caught him took matters into their own hands and resorted to jungle justice (irons, woods, and even stones to beat him up). And, incredibly, they even went as far as deciding to burn him.
It's really unfortunate that this student chose to steal in the wrong place at the wrong time. But regardless of the circumstances, resorting to such extreme violence is never the right solution. It's important for us to remember that everyone deserves to be treated fairly and that justice should be served through proper channels.
You're right. Thanks for sharing but in most villages, if you spare these ones without burning them, they'll hunt you later and ensure they wipe your entire household for beating them that hard. That's why they are burnt so they'll not make people in fear as they'll be coming for vengeance.
