My Neighborhood Watch #90 - Reporting Events Around us
Greetings Friends
We are now in another weekend and I pray this weekend favours all of us in Jesus name, Amen. There was a matriculation ceremony in my neighborhood and I haven't gotten the opportunity all these while to talk about it but now I have an opportunity to express myself about this event and I thank @xkool24 for organizing this contest.
University of Portharcourt Matriculation Ceremony
February 18th 2025, the University of Portharcourt popularly known as UNIPORT, had their matriculation ceremony that day and it was a very memorable day for all the freshers in the school. Most of my friends from my church matriculated that day and one of them is a steemian, I also have friends who didn't matriculate this year because they weren't given admission.

I have been encouraging them to stay bright and work harder next time so that they can get a very wonderful score and be highly eligible for admission st the ending of this year. I didn't really attend the ceremony but I have alot of pictures I will love to share, the school is a very large school and a large number of students were admitted.
The school was filled with alot of people that day, student's parents, siblings and friends were present to celebrate the day with them. I really wish I was present, alot of amazing things really happened. Taking pictures together was one of the best part of the occasion because alot of people derive joy in taking pictures on their matriculation day. I also took pictures on my matriculation day few years ago.

The school's matriculation gown is coloured Black and Blue, a very matured colours. Before the day of matriculation I discovered that the students took the gowns a week to the matriculation day and they were told to submit something before getting theirs and once they ceremony is over the will return the gown after washing it and take back what they gave to those in charge while they were collecting the gown and cap.
Ofcourse the gown can't be enough for the entire admitted students, most students without gowns often borrow gowns from their fellow students just to take few pictures with it and immediately after that they will give it back to them joyfully. Some take pictures with professional photographers while some take pictures with their phones or friend's phones.

They were all excited that the weather was friendly and calm that day because if rain falls the occasion won't be very enjoyable. Alot of departments took pictures together, some people bought cakes and ate it together with their coursemates. Alot of food was available for people who cooked for their coursemates and friends. Those with so many friends that cooked food thstvdwu really ate alot of food.
I also knew that after the time they spent at the school premises, alot of students went out to party with their friends, some went back home the next day and that matriculation day was a lecture free day, the students didn't learn anything they day but the next day they had their normal lectures and some students were very weak to go to school the next day.
