Steem4nigeria Accelerator Contest Week 35: Dealing with Emotions

in Steem4Nigeria8 months ago (edited)
Emotion is state of mind of a person at any moment. They can be sad, happy, moody, angry and so on but it does not necessarily mean it should be used as the yard stick in the description of the person's character. Once, i was provoke and accused wrongly of what i didn't do. It made me so angry and frustrated because some people took sides without finding out the real cause of the scene. But the truth will always stand out for all to see. The person who accused me apologised but it wasn't easily to calm down the anger portrayed on my face.

Some emotional challenges and ways you can handle them!

To carry out your daily activities you sometimes can't do without changes in your emotional state. Why is that? Well you know better that it is not easy to interact with people with different interest without being emotional. I will list out some possible factors that can lead to emotional changes. There are:

Overwhelmed
Frustration
Homesick
Loneliness
Dejected
Unfulfilled
Panic

One of the main contributing factors to this growth are the emotional hurdles that we will have to face and overcome daily. The more challenging they are to you, the stronger they will make you especially in a competitive environment. After all, what doesn't kill you will definitely makes you stronger. Hence it is pertinent you manage them more effectively.

Overwhelmed – Moving to a new environment suddenly you’ve no idea where to begin. Feeling overwhelmed and unable to organise your time. Hence it’s no wonder you feel adrift or lost!
I advise you take some time out to reduce the pressure on yourself. Make effort to remember the reasons that made you want to come here and most importantly remember all the things you have planned for your time in the new environment.

Frustration – Feeling of frustrated when you’re close to checking something off only to be foiled by nothing more than unfamiliar circumstances due to the lack of knowledge on how to get to places or procure what you desperately need.
The best solution is to remain calm, seek help by asking any nearest person available.

Homesick – Everyone goes through moments of it. Just know that it is something temporary and it will pass, hence it's best solution is to engage yourself in some activities to reduce the boredom.

Loneliness – You are more likely than not to experience some loneliness if you are the kind that socialize with people a lot. But if you do,it may be tough but it's part of what will make you better, stronger and develop your social skills.
I advise, no matter the environment you find yourself try to interact within that environment. It helps a lot!

Dejected - When you showcase your best effort only for you to be trampled on or looked down on. It's alway disheartening. In such situation, don't dwell on it, move on and might just need to change your strategy!

Unfulfilled - We might have some pretty grand ideas of the future we want but this is often far from the reality.
Thus,it is important to remember what your goal was for your time then and to know that you may not get it right the first time! In other to succeed you must make the most out of your time.

Panic - At some point you are probably going to have a situation that challenges you to the point of wanting to give up on yourself. I'm sure in such circumstance you ability to recognise the situation is paramount because panic is temporary and will pass but you will be a lot stronger and more capable than you think you are after that event.
Emotional trigger lead many people if left unchecked down the wrong path. Don't let it rule you instead be the one in charge of it and be in control your life.

I totally understand where you're coming from. Emotions are like the way we feel in a particular moment. We can feel sad, happy, moody, angry, and so on. But it's important to remember that our emotions don't define who we are as a person. Sometimes, things happen that can really provoke us and make us feel angry and frustrated, especially when we're wrongly accused of something we didn't do. It's tough when people take sides without knowing the real story. But you know what? The truth always has a way of coming out. It's great that the person who accused you apologized, but I can imagine it wasn't easy to calm down that anger on your face. Emotions can be really intense sometimes.

You are more likely than not to experience some loneliness if you are the kind that socialize with people a lot. But if you do,it may be tough but it's part of what will make you better, stronger and develop your social skills.
I advise, no matter the environment you find yourself try to interact within that environment. I like the idea, but you know, there are some people that feel like getting into friendship with other people might put them into trouble so they decided to stay on their own. This doesn't mean you can't deal with emotions, you can try to do what you enjoy to do most, either by watching movies, a Walk and listening to cool music. My idea.💡

Thanks for your input,we just need to face it and not run from it, that's one to grow above emotional constraint.

Feeling overwhelmed is one strong and can be a destructive feeling if not handled properly.
Whenever I feel overwhelmed, I try to step out or do something else or choose the best way which is to sleep. Though I will loose time that would have possible amounted to something, I would be more productive only after easing myself from this feeling.
