Memories of the Village: [Plantains and Udara].

As I stepped off the bus and onto the bustling city streets, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and nostalgia. In my hands, I carefully cradled a few precious items I had brought back from my recent trip to the village: a bag of fresh plantains and a bag of juicy udara.

The plantains, with their thick, green skin, brought back memories of my childhood. Growing up in the village, I would often help my mother harvest plantains from our backyard. We'd boil or fry them, and enjoy them as a snack or side dish. The sweet, starchy taste of plantains is a flavor that's deeply ingrained in my memory.

The udara, on the other hand, is a fruit that's native to our region. Its sweet, slightly tangy taste is a refreshing treat, especially during the hot summer months. Iremember climbing udara trees as a kid, plucking the fruit from the branches, and devouring it on the spot.

As I made my way back to my city apartment, I couldn't wait to share these village treasures with my neighbors and friends. We feasted on boiled plantains, fried plantain chips, and fresh udara, savoring the flavors and textures of these beloved village staples.

For a brief moment, the hustle and bustle of city life faded away, replaced by the simple joys and warmth of village life. The plantains and udara I brought back from the village served as a tangible connection to my roots, a reminder of the beauty and richness of rural life.
