Saturday Chronicle : Being there for my Friends & Attending A Wedding Reception

There is this feeling of satisfaction one derives from showing love and kindness to friends and loved ones. I experienced that on Saturday and I would love to share it with you.

You would agree with me that we all need to feel loved especially by our close associates and family. No one would feel good if he feels neglected. We should always try to show how much we care because it goes a long way and it leaves a lasting yet positive effect on people. Let me explain!.

So, I have two friends that I have known for a very long time. They are both siblings and they look very much alike. Some people even mistaken them to be twins. We built a strong bond of friendship though they are a little bit younger than me.

This is an old picture of us, they are the two girls standing next to me. Can you spot @vickmoon by my right?

My friends were getting baptized but we are no longer in the same congregation and I was not attending that convention. They were not happy that I would not be able to attend. They did not know I had already planned to come. One of them sent me this 👇 that morning.

I could literally see their face lit up when they saw me. They screamed and hugged me so tight. I had not seen them for a very long time. That moment is very precious to me and I will forever treasure it.

Their baptism is an evidence to all that they have dedicated themselves to God and have started their journey and relationship with Him. It is very important in a person's service to God. I just had to be there. They were present at my baptism, so why not?

And of course, we took beautiful pictures to remember that day. I will let the pictures speak.

They really appreciated my effort to come and see them on such important day. I got this message 👇 from one of them later that day.

I am very glad I was able to make them smile.

After that, I attended a wedding reception of my family friend in another local government area. I live in Uyo, the convention was in Nsit Ibom LGA and the wedding was in Abak LGA. I had a great tour on Saturday 😁.

My family had a little trouble finding the exact location. We had to ask for directions and we finally got to the venue.

On arriving, one could feel the joy in the atmosphere. Everyone was so happy. The sound of delightful music gladdened my heart. I took pictures before the party officially started.

Guests were dressed in traditional attire. It made the event colourful.

Then, the party started properly. The chairman of the occasion gave a speech and a prayer was said. Then, the celebrants, already wedded, were ushered in accompanied by friends, family and well wishers. They danced joyfully to the beats of the music. You could see the happiness on their faces.

The couple proceeded to their nuptial chamber specially designed for them.

The photographer took pictures of them alongside guests. The cut their beautifully decorated cake.

Oh yes, food and drinks were served. That was my favourite part of the wedding. I ate Jollof rice and a piece of the cake. I took Malta drink to wash it down.

The couple was given some scriptural advice and a prayer was said for them. The groom gave a vote of thanks.

The party ended and a lot of people took pictures with them. After that, they was a lot of dancing.

Though it was a small party, I enjoyed every bit of it. I wish the couple marital bliss and God's blessings.

Heading back home, I passed a beautiful water fountain. I could not resist the urge to take pictures of it.

I had a fun-filled Saturday. I was exhausted but I went to bed feeling satisfied.
