Marriage is a thing of joy but many marriages have discouraged people not to enter into it. Just like we had seen from the original content that lack of communication can ruin the marriage! This is the truth because when you cut off communication in a relationship, it's the worst a partner can ever do.

I will be using the contest guide to present below

What do you think makes a marriage successful?

The most important thing that makes a marriage successful is:

1. Love
2. Trust
3. Understanding and
4. Communication.

The above are the four keys to a successful marriage. We shall look at them one after another.

Love

In Ephesians 5:25-31 we can see how the Bible gave a command that husband should love their wife just like Christ loved the church. Verse 31 said for this course, a man shall leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife and they shall be one. This is a Mistry!

The Lord knew that without a man to love his wife, he can not cherish her that is why the Lord had shown good example to come and die for the church "just like I had loved the church"

Love here is seen as giving out all of you without complaints. Without love in marriage, there won't be sacrifices for both partners.

Trust
For you to trust someone, it means you must have put such a person to the test! In marriage when there is no trust, the partners would be living in fear.

This fear can easily kill and destroy all that you have labored to build over the years. I can say this is one of the major challenges which couples are facing in their marriages. This might be cheating, telling lies, stealing, etc when you have such as partner, it becomes a problem and makes both parties restless.

Understanding and Communication

Understanding is in line with compatibility and this goes together with communication. Once you have a partner that understands you, communication won't be a challenge in the marriage.

Here, you should understand that communication plays a vital role (life wire) in the marriage therefore it should not be cut off.

How can couples improve communication in their marriage?

For you to improve communication in your marriage, you have to do the following:

1. Always pay attention/ listen to each other when conversing.
2. Always tell your parent please I'm sorry whenever you feel you've wronged him. Note, that the first to say I'm sorry has an edge over another.
3. Don't always focus on complains
4. Keep bad memories behind
5. Don't compare your marriage with your past relationship.
6. You can tell good stories to each other
7. Pray for each other.
8. Try by all means to put a call to your partner whenever you feel like missing his/her presence.

Discuss the importance of trust in a marriage.

Trust is very essential in marriage. When both parties trust each other, the fear factor won't be there!

When you have that trust in your wife as a husband, you won't be afraid of sending your wife for an errand.

When you trust your partner, you are always ready to stand by him/her no matter the challenge. But when there is a lack of trust, the marriage will always have problems daily.

How do couples healthily navigate conflicts?

• Whenever there is conflict at home, the first to say I'm sorry has an edge over the other concerning who is the fault. The question here is, "How can I tell my wife I'm sorry when she is the cause of the problem"? This is where pride is lost as the head of the family. Once you do this, it's an example you have placed for her to see and follow suit likewise the wife.

• Don't always focus on complaints because this can only keep you in one spot.

• Don't discuss your challenges with anyone outside who is not capable of giving you good advice for the solution to the problem you are having with your partner.

Do you consider the distance between spouses and cultural differences a problem in marriage? Why?

Distance in marriage has made so many people lose their partners for one another. I see distance relationships as a cheat because most women need touching, feelings, and seeing their man always likewise the man.

Now women are moved by what they see and hear like a man who is not moved by those things.

Marriage is more than video calls! Today many people have been doing online dating, for years without meeting each other.

Cultural differences can end up in a good marriage. My friend once said to me that his father-in-law asked him, Now that you want to marry my daughter and the both of you don't understand one language, how will you communicate?

The young man answered that since we love each other and understand ourselves, language won't be a barrier. Here we should know that love is the greatest of peace and joy.

We noticed that before this question was asked, the father had told his daughter to look for a man that comes from their tribe but since she had a love for her guy, she told her father that was the man she wanted to marry.

Note, that she always prayed that God would change the mind of her father to accept the young man, and her request was granted.

Now for those who are already married, once you have a challenge at home and you use your language to talk, your partner might think you are rebuking him/her and this can ruin your marriage.

Conclusion

In conclusion, for your marriage to keep going, there is a need for effective communication. Don't always feel that you are always right by feeling too big to say I'm sorry to your partner.

Distance relationships are not healthy for marriage but cultural differences can be handled via understanding, love, and good communication.
