Steem4nigeria Accelerator Contest Week 73: Developing a good sense of humor
Hello Steem4nigeria, it's another day to participate in a contest I find interest on, it's titled Developing a good sense of humor. Organized and published here in Steem4nigeria community.
Humor is very important in our life as it reduces stress through taking off tension and improving mood through laughter, by sharing humor with others it help create bonds and strengthens our connections and build a good relationships.
Developing a good sense of humor will not only make us happy, but comes with numerous benefits physically and mentally. Before the end of this article I will enlighten deep on the benefits as well as my experience and my opinion on how to exercise human to people around me.
Here in this contest I'm expected to exercise on the below points...
In my own understanding, What is a good sense of humor?
In what ways do I think we can exercise humor to people around us?
Have I practiced this exercise before?, where and when.
Are there benefits of having a good sense of humor? Can gist us about it?
This contest is indeed amazing, I'll be looking forward to reading others entry so I can learn different ways people exercise humor. Before I continue I will love to invite @ngoenyi, @chant and @goodybest to participate in this contest.

In your Own understanding, What is a good sense of humor?

In my own understanding I'll say that agood sense of humor is the ability to feel and express funny things in a way that will brings joy and lightens the mood of the people around us without causing harm or being offensive, unlike bad sense of humor that can be offensive and Mostly involve making jokes on sensitive topic in the name of humor to make someone feel less important or hurt someone.
But rather good sense of humor show your emotional intelligence and creativity which allows someone to laugh by themselves, adapt and connect with others.

In what ways do you think we can exercise humor to people around us?

Exercisings a good humor humorn can positively strengthen our relationships and create a more enjoyable environment, in my below point I'll discuss on some effective way of exercising positive humor.
We acheive this by share appropriate jokes that best fit the situation being our family, friends or audience in a show.
In reference to my introduction, I talked about avoiding controversial or divisive topics in order to ensure inclusivity.
Here it is expected to draw attention to funny and quirky aspects of everyday situations without being offensive.
Here it expected to make light jokes about ourselves without condemning your confidence to appear approachable and humble.
In this case we achieve it through using quick expression to find laugher in unexpected moments and situations by turning unimportant things into laughter.
Gently tease or make a mock of your friends or family but in a loving way, and observe if they will well receive.
Through participating in or create lighthearted games or activities that bring smiles and laughter to everyone involved
When using my about methods it is advisable to know our Audience, doing such will ensure that our humor aligns with the comfort level of the people around us.
Like I said considering being respectful is one of the key, we do this by avoiding humor that targets sensitive topics or could hurt our target feelings. Our humors should always be at the right moment.

Yes!!!, Humor is a powerful tool and I have had the opportunity to use it in different situations to bring joy and connection to my family and friends around me, one memorable instance occurred just of recent while working on a team assignment with my coursemates, good enough two of my steemit friends in the like of @jeph001 and @tripsy where among.
When we were in class our lecturer gave us a programming rule that says "If it works, don’t touch it, the " during the assignment, one of my friends wrote a program that technically worked but the output wasn’t what he expected, he was totally frustrated, there he seek idea from others of our teammates to troubleshoot the error.
Me observing the tension I decided to bring in some lightheartedness into the moment, with a smile I told him calling his name,nyaknno, *"leave it even if it doesn’t display what you want, remember the our rule rule "if it works, don’t touch it!"
Immediately, the room was filled with laughter, it was just fun seeing my throwing their hands and leg laughing and believe, the stress melted away, my comment wasn’t just meant to entertain but rather to remind everyone to enjoy the process and not let minor mistake undermine our mood. It was a moment of shared humor that brought us closer together as a team.
I also find humor so valuable at home especially when my siblings experience mood swings, I always try my best to make it a point to observe their moods and find ways to lift them up whether through a funny comment or anything that will likely amusing them or I simply play like a fool to spark a laugh.
Recently, my little sister precious "@presh001", was experiencing a mood swing. In other to cheer her up I cracked a joke that hit the right note and her laughter was proof that the tension was eased, moments like these remind me of the healing power of humor and how even the simplest jokes can brighten someones day.
Through those experiences I have learned that humor is not just about making people laugh alone but it is also about creating connection, easing stress and creating a positive atmosphere wherever I am.

Yes, Having a good sense of humor offers a lot of benefits in various aspects of life, physical health benefits, mental health benefits and social health benefits. Now let me highlight the few aspectsbelow...
Stress reduction is one of the benefit, laughter decreases stress hormones and promote relaxation and reduce all stress levels.
Humor boosten our immune system, while I was making research in the humor health benefits I find out that engaging in humor increases the production of antibodies and activates immune cells which in turn strengthenn the our defense organs.
It also play a good role in our cardiovascular health, health proves laughter to stimulates blood circulation and improves blood vessel function which contributes to better heart health and reduce the risk of heart disease.
Humor here in regards to mental health it enhance mood, it improved mood and reduced feelings of depression, just like the case of my little sister which I shared in the previously.
Humor also helps in cognitive function, as it we incoparete humor, it can improve our memory retention and creative thinking by engaging different areas of our brain.
Here, humor can actually strengthen Relationships, sharing laughter brings emotional connections and enhances smooth communication and builds strong relationships among our family, friends and any individual around us.
It also help in conflict Resolution, humor can mitigate tension and create smooth interaction during disagreements or challenging moments. I had this experience when dispute between me and my friend arise, my friend being good at jokes fine it easy to get me off the memory by cracking a joke with I laughed, before you know we begin connecting and flow as before.
In conclusion, considering but the physical and mental benefits of good sense of humor is very important as it help us place our priority in making people around us feel happy and we in return gain health benefits by doing so.
It is also crucial to consider being careful while try to create moments that evokes laughter, in order not to end up hurting you friends and love ones. We are only advise to promote good sense of humor not bad sense.
