Steem4nigeria Accelerator Contest Week 60: Life Lessons
Hello friends welcome.
Can you share a situation where a mistake taught you an important lesson?
In life, our mistakes can teach us a lot of hidden things that are important which I have experienced. Being in school and living in a compound for more than a year we then decide to make a change to compound that students are much. The compound I and my roommates were to move to is well-fenced but the problem with the compound is that it is usually dry and calm like a cemetery during holidays which one of my roommates insisted we should remain at the compound we are in.
To cut the story short, I and my roommates, took a bold step and relocated to the compound thinking that it would be more convenient for us to stay, not knowing that it was where danger was waiting for us. We park in the compound when students were still on holiday the very first day that we park in the compound we were welcomed by a thief who even try to rape one of my roommates. At the end of everything I was taught an important lesson over the whole situation.
How do you handle setbacks or failures, and what have you learned from them?
I do handle setbacks or failures, by trusting in God and keeping my hope across and positive. A positive attitude is the best thing that I do to handle setbacks. Even in my failures I do develop a positive mindset for myself and keep myself motivated believing that I can achieve and overcome my setbacks or failures if I should try again. Patience is what I have learned from them. It is said that patience is a virtue which is what I have learned from them.
Have you experienced a moment that made you appreciate the value of kindness or empathy?
Yes, I have experienced a moment that made me appreciate the value of kindness or empathy. Before I found it difficult to appreciate the kindness of people in my life until once certain that I got broke trying to get what I liked but couldn't get, that made me appreciate the value of kindness or empathy in my life. It was then that I began valuing and appreciating every little act of kindness in my life.
What role does perseverance play in achieving your goals, and can you share an example?
Perseverance plays a vital role in my life by helping me to make progress even when things get tough, which is very important for the success of my future. Whenever I work towards achieving my goal and drama in life there will be obstacles and setbacks but because of how persevering I am I do make progress and learn a skill that will pay off in the run. For example, as a student, I have experienced financial challenges and perseverance has helped me to scale through and be where I am today.
What lesson(s) have you gained in life that you would love to share with us?
The lesson of being who you are and the lesson of being kind and caring to people. I have seen someone who loses a life-changing opportunity because of how rude she is which was supposed to be given to her was then given to the kind-hearted person. In my case, my humility and love for humanity always bring good people around who always show me care.
