My Neighborhood Watch #80 - Reporting Events Around us
Greetings friends of Steemit and Steem4Nigeria
It's always exciting to make post in a community like Steem4Nigeria. Before I start I would like to invite two fellow Steemians @zulbahri and @chiagoziee to participate in the contest.
Yesterday I saw there was last minute preparation of Christmas in the Church. I saw both father and sister were busy in supervising the decoration work going on. I really like the cowshed pandal with the stage where all the animals like a jersey cow, a collie, Bantam hens, Ducks, Sheep and lambs appeared with gifts like like a rugby ball, a pavlova, jandals, and a kiwi toy were seen surrounded by his mother the Virgin Mary his father Joseph an angel and the three Magi or wise men.
Many were going for shopping for our friends and family and what ornaments and trimmings will be hanging from the tree. Everyone feels festive singing Christmas carols out in the cold crisp weather. The Christmas season also serves up all kinds of tasty snacks and treats.
Christmas lights and all the cool decorations and maybe most importantly there's Christmas vacation no school for a week.
People started to lit up candles from the first Sunday of Advent season. Today and yesterday also they lit up the forth candle in the month of December on the Christmas.
Christians marked the start of the holiday at midnight by going to church to pray watch a procession like candles. Christ's Day referring to the day that Jesus was born that's right at its core Christmas is a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ also known as the Messiah. It is commonly accepted that Jesus Christ was born on December 25th which is why we celebrate on that day though the exact date of his birth is not known for sure for people who were Christians. There is a saying in a secular country like us '' Religion belongs to its believer, but festivals belong to all".
Wish you all a Merry Christmas.
