THE DAIRY GAME: ATTENDING THE NATIONAL STEEMIT MEETUP IN UYO || 30-11-2024
Dear Dairy,
It was a very special day with special moments; all the thoughts in my mind were just hitting on the meetup, just wondering how I would be meeting great Steemians in my country and also Steemian friends.
Come to think of this, steemit has given me friends who are like a family to me. I have crossed certain barriers to meet people and also make friends.
On Saturday, I made time to meet @whizzbro4eva and @nsijoro to get my t-shirt. They paid their way to school to deliver it to some of us, and I was happy to receive it knowing that the meetup was sure.
Here is my nicely design T-shirt with an inscription of my Steemit username, these printings were taken care of by our mentor @ngoenyi. Time wasn't by our side as I and @us-andrew made our way to the location. It was just a 2-minute drive, and we were already at the meetup center.
We met lots of Steemians as they were already settled and waiting for the event to kick off. I greeted some of them as others were busy with the arrangements. We left to take a few pictures, but it turned out to be plentiful. The sun was radiating at a very good degree which made our pictures shine.
The day was already blessed, and the atmosphere was very friendly; it's dry season, and we won't be expecting rain. It was already 3 o'clock and we were already seated and ready to kickstart the program. At first, we made a brief introduction of ourselves, stating our Steemit username as everyone did. I was glad to finally see people I used to interact with my comments; now, seeing them physically was a moment of joy.
While we were making introductions, I got a message from @bossj23, who wasn't able to make it to the meetup, so he requested we do a live stream of the event, which I did. I enjoyed taking pictures.
The members of the high table were introduced as they came forward, and the event proper kicked off with a brief introduction and question, "Why Steemit?" This was taken care of by @Ngoenyi; she made it very interactive as she walked about, giving the microphone to Steemians to answer; the answers were so giving as it made the event go interesting; they all shared their view and interacted on the question.
The second, who was @goodybest, also made a brief talk which we learned enough lessons from. Sir @xkool24 also laid a good foundation as the time for the questions and answer section approached, people asked questions that made them confused, and they got the right answer for the questions.
After the talk, gifts were presented to people from @bossj23; he brought gifts for people, which I was included; I was very happy to have gotten a gift from him; the gift was a total surprise as I didn't expect a gift at the event.
We unveiled our gifts and took pictures with them; @basil20 got his gift, which I am sure he was very happy to unveil. The food was shared, with drinks and we all got a share of it.
We all left to take a group picture in the field; we all stood as a group; the pictures were so many that you wouldn't have space to get them. It was already getting dark and the dance was already occupied by great steemians dancers.
The turnout was very surprising, as some were not able to make it due to some engagements and distance, but the turnout was massive. We had close to 80 people in attendance.

Just wondering if I had missed the meetup, owing to what happened to me that day. This was my first time attending a Steemit meetup. And it has been one of my best days of 2024. The food, the fun, everything that happened there will remain memorable, thanks to the organizers 😊😊. I'm hoping another one will be hosted in Uyo soon...
Nice write up... It's precised but detailed.
Good luck my boss
The
The FOOD 😅. It was such a memorable event, which you would have had regrets if you stayed back and I'm sure I would have peppered you with the photos especially the food pictures 😅.
