Hello Friends, welcome to my blog, it's good to see the end of season 12 Engagement contests and to be part of it. As always the topic is interesting and indeed there's no place like home! No country is the greatest or the best in everything, and I think what matters most is whether you're happy and have peace of mind wherever you are.

Tell Us About Your Home (Country), A Brief History, Will Be An Added Advantage

Nigeria is my home country, and the most populated and popular black nation I like my country and below are some facts about Nigeria:

1st October 1960 was the day Nigeria gained its independence.

There are 36 states of Nigeria and there are more than 500 indigenous languages spoken in Nigeria.

Though not the capital city, Lagos State is the largest city in Nigeria.

Nigeria has over 250 ethnic groups.

Nollywood is Our movie industry.

Our flag is made up of two colors green and white the green stands for agriculture while the white stands for peace.

Naira is our currency (NGN).

We are hardworking and very smart people, we love life in Nigeria, and we excel in all areas of life.

Why Do You Think Your Country Is Unique? Share At Least 3 Points

Well there are countless negative reports about Nigeria and this has painted my dear country black in the eyes of foreigners, this is bad to the extent that many of us believe that there is nothing good about Nigeria our country. But this is far from the truth the Almighty God have richly blessed us and our land, let me relate with you a few that make us unique:

(1) Culture:

Ekombi.jpeg

Our culture is simply unique and fantastic! We have solid cultural backgrounds, I love our dress codes, designs and patterns, it just makes us unique, oh talking about cuisine we are the best, I mean God has blessed us with varieties of natural healthful foods and fruits.

The way we dance and sing makes us different, our different festivals too make us unique, have you heard of the Calabar carnival festival before? it is a one-in-a-million festival whereby people normally travel from afar to attend and obtain their experiences.

(2) Natural Resources:

God has blessed us with uncountable natural resources, we have both renewable and non-renewable resources, Do you need solar? We are blessed with, crude oil Both onshore and offshore, for example my state Akwa Ibom is one of the major oil-producing states in Nigeria. Nigeria has coal, glass, limestone, granite, iron, cotton, salt, marble and Gold etc. We have the main sources of hydroelectric power the Dams and the Jebba, and Lastly, we're blessed with fertile soil, God loves Nigeria!

(3) Beautiful Tourist Sights:

My Country is beautiful, People who always tour here can attest to this fact. We have beautiful beaches like the one in my state Ibeno Beach, we have mountains, Waterfalls, Caves, Benin bronze head, the Obodu cattle ranch and many more you just have to explore and experience this beauty first-hand.

Would You Leave Your Country To Settle In Another If An Opportunity Shows Up? Back-Up Your Answer With Reasons.

Sincerely speaking, I don't want to leave Nigeria, I mean I was born and brought up here, and I enjoyed much freedom and peace of mind in my home country, this is where I broadly identify with the lifestyle, culture, outlook and ethics of my people. Nigeria gives me the foundation of who I am today. Nigeria might not be the best or the greatest, but this country is sweet if you have good Money 🤪. I will travel the world, and visit many places but I will always prefer my home country to others because there's no place like home, I will remain a foreigner in others.

What Areas Of Your Home (Country) Would You Love To See An Improvement?

Unemployment And Inflation:

The rate of Unemployment is high in Nigeria, we have millions of graduates with no decent job, and we don't have many big industries and manufacturing firms to leverage the situation. We need to rebalance the economy and improvements in this aspect. Entrepreneurs, Producers and small/big businesses should be empowered to create more commodities we demand. Export and productivity need to be improved, this will open room for an investment climate, the job creation will be led by the private sector. Nigeria's economic productivity will be boosted.

Poor Infrastructure:

bad infrastructure.jpeg

We need a good road network because there are massive poor infrastructure in Nigeria so I would love to see good roads, constant electricity light, railways, improvement in the educational sector, and enhanced trade and transport facilitation which will help to develop our country and facilitate efficiency factors of production thus making my country cost competitive.

Conclusion:

I am a proud Nigerian, we are hardworking, super-talented and smart people, and I believe our country will be a better place than now. Thanks for reading me, and I would like to invite my friends @eliany, @shiftitamanna and @mdkamran99 to join this contest.

Nigeria is amazing country. After reading your post I'm able to know about fact figures of Nigerian History.

You have mentioned that green colour represents our agriculture. One thing I want to share here that being a student of Civil services exam , I was reading yesterday about the global powers. The thing I find that center of power is indian Ocean.

And it's interesting to know that Africa has access to indian 🌊 Ocean. I guess through Black sea Nigerian can strengthen their trade and transportation. And the second chock that your country has to face is Bab Ul Mandeep. Then you can access to Indian Ocean.

Overall , you have described very well about your country. Many things that are important for me to know.

Thanks for this beautiful post.

I appreciate your kind review, thank you so much!

Nigeria is really a blessed country. In term of our culture, tourist centers, natural resources, etc; we are just spectacular. Leaving the country in it's state now is not preferable. Rather, we stand together to build the Nigeria of our dreams. Awesome post ma'am
