All You Need to know About Voting, And Curation Trails
Edited with Canva
I hope your week is going on well! Mine is splendid and I'm excited 😊 that today is Friday! Today want to write about Voting And it's important, and also Curation trails. I chose this topic because I've observed that many users do not understand how it works. Some their voting Mana almost run down to zero, some do not Vote at all and their voting CSI is 0 or below 5%, while some joined a particular curation trail that is upvoting inactive accounts and bid bot.
In this post I will discuss what Voting is And why it's so Important, what Voting Mana and Voting CSI is, and lastly Curation trails.
Voting: adds value to a post depending on the Amount of Steem Power (SP) and the percentage the curator's voted on a post. Voting is a sign of curators like and approval of a post or comment.
The green button is the voting button
There's a limit to how many posts a user can votes daily, this take us to Voting Mana.
I know this term might sound strange to Newbies among us. But you can liken it to an "Energy Bar" in a computer game, it's normally 100% when it's fully recharge, but the percentage depleted each time you caste vote on a post.
Voting Mana source: steemworld.org
You can see from the screenshot that mine is at 95.42% as at the time I write this post. The down part of it shows the value of your vote at different percentage.
The more you vote the less influence you carry. If you vote a post at 100% your power will be reduced by 2% . For those who's Steem Power (SP) is up to 500 a slider will pop up for you to choose the desire percentage you want to vote a particular post, when you clicking the green button. But newbies and users who's SP is below 500 can only vote at 100%.
To reach more authors a day you can reduce your voting power percentage to either 50% or 75%, a vote with 50% voting will worth half of the vote cast with 100% voting power.
Your voting mana recharges 20% everyday, so it's best to always leave it at 80% so that it will be fully recharge the next day for use.
For newbies since you can only vote at 100% you can support 10 different authors daily and your voting Mana will be fully recharge the next day.
Note you can check your Voting Mana using https://steemworld.org/@yourusername
Do I Need to Vote A Post Even when My Upvote Do Not Have Effect on Posts Reward?
The answer to this question is affirmatively Yes! Though your vote may not have immediate effect but when added along all others at the end of payout, will means something. Your vote may cause a lot of users to vote on the post, simply because they saw your upvote on it. So your vote may have this indirect effect on payout this way.
Ways Of Making Your Votes To Count More:
Power up more Frequently and you can buy steem token at the exchange and transfer the token to your Steemit wallet and then power up.
Note that curators have rewards too, whatever value your vote is added to a post will be divided into two equal parts, one for you and the other for the author. You see it's a win win!
Voting CSI: it is a tool that shows how we have distributed our vote over a period of 7days, and the percentage of our support of fellow users.
The tool can be found in steemworld page.
It shows both our incoming and outgoing votes. It's bad If our voting CSI is 0 or below 5% it shows that we don't use to support others. So try and increase yours by spreading your vote to different authors quality contents.

Curation trail is the process whereby a user consented a third-party application to automatically cast vote for him/her, those who joined a particular trail automatically upvote the same posts or comments that the trail vote. When you allow other users to automatically vote the Same content they do, all the users who automatically follow them are called curation trail.
I brought this up because while reviewing posts in the community I've observed that a lot users upvotes inactive accounts, or a bid both account and this is due to some curation trails they've followed. So I want to encourage us to be voting manually and unfollow some curation trails we don't trust the handlers.
Let's support one another by always upvoting their quality post, don't feel reluctant that your SP is Low, just form that habit, that your vote alongside others means a lot. Unfollow some curation trails, lastly, may we all continue to support steemgrowth by powering up frequently. Thank you! I'll be at the comment section incase you have any question.
