The Diary Game: 27/08/2022 | A Day with a Minus but Fruitful

Introduction

One of my usual weekend activities was hindered this week due to some factors that are beyond my control. Well, I missed it but there is nothing I can do to make it work, it might cost me more than I thought if I'd tried to make it work at all cost. It's the diary game and I'm just about to share with you how my Saturday was spent.

A Day with a Minus

I have just themed today A Day with a Minus, that's because I spent the day without performing one of my favorite Saturday activities. The recent days have been associated with a downpour which occurs almost all day through with a few minutes break before it continues. If you don't have your own car, it's hard leaving the house without returning drenched.

I have always utilized the early hours of Saturdays to play football, unfortunately, when I woke up today, it was raining and then I doubted if I would be able to fulfill the usual practice. I got ready to step out but it was still raining at that moment. To get to the playing pitch, I would have to take public transport and in this case, I can't even head out without being seriously drenched.

I eventually stayed back at home for the day and got involved in other activities. Around 11:45, I began curation of Finance and Technology related content using SC05which went on for some time. I stepped out of the house to get watermelon, apple, and other vegetables from the greengrocers. It's quite unfortunate that I was only able to get fruits from one of them while the other hasn't come around for the day. Precisely, I got two apples which cost 300 NGN (2 STEEM), each costing 150 NGN, and sliced watermelon that cost 200 NGN (1.3 STEEM).

I had planned to get a particular vegetable known as Efo Shoko (in the local language) and popularly called African Spinach but since the greengrocer that deals with this type aren't available yet, I left the place. I was on my way trekking back home when it began raining again. I seek shelter at a roadside shop.

An English Premier League match between Chelsea and Leicester City FC is scheduled to take place today and when I got home, it was just about 15:00 when the match would kick off. As a supporter of Chelsea, you would understand how important this game is to me, we lost the previous game to Leeds United and a win for the day would heal the last week's wound a bit.

Everything was going well until a Chelsea player, Gallagher was red-carded at the 28th minute for a brutal challenge on a Leicester player, having a yellow card already, he was sent off. I felt so discouraged after the red card until I saw the performance of Chelsea players which gradually restored my hope. It seems all will end well when Chelsea scored two goals, both scored by Raheem Sterling, I was so happy and just have to capture the TV screen during the match.

The game continued heating up when Barnes put one back for Leicester City F.C, eventually, the game ended 2 - 1 to Chelsea's advantage, you can imagine how excited I was, shouting and jumping all alone inside the house. The Chelsea players put in their best to come out victoriously even with 10 men against 11 at such young minutes into the game. After the game, I stepped out to get the African Spinach from a near greengrocer, I took a selfie out there.

I got the African Spinach which cost 200 NGN (1.3 STEEM). If you have not seen one before, I have a picture for you below.

I washed off the Spinach with warm water and began the process of cooking it (stewing to give birth to efo riro). Around 18:00, I began curation with Steem4Nigeria official account, switched to my account to curate some articles and then to the SC05 account where I curated till 19:00. I quickly finished up my cooking and dinner is Amala (produced from yam flour) and Efo riro (Stewed Spinach and smoked fish).

I deem it fit to pen down my diary to share with you how I had spent the day, this began after my dinner and this is exactly what you have read so far.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the day was associated with a missing event, nevertheless, the events I was involved in for the day were worth it as such I didn't miss playing football too much. I'm just going to interact with a few articles now and search for more articles to curate using SC05 for the next few hours. Thanks for reading my diary today and I hope you had a great time here.

All I can perceive here is some kind of jealousy, lol. Ain't you proud of a team that could still win a match despite a one-player deficit? Even your team has just struggled to win with complete players in today's game.

That being said, we would be willing to welcome you onboard at least to take off the shame your team has caused you. You are no longer title contenders, know this and know peace, @olabiilions. 😆

Well done @fredquantum.
Even without the football you did not play for the day, you day was a good one. I didn't see any minus there. Though I understand the person for football but I can say your day was still fulfilled.

As for your team Chelsea, I think that last match they played before the past weekend was Leeds United and not Brendford. It was a miracle to me that a team that collected a red card at the early hours of the match won gallantly. That shows how composed they are. Great performance there.

Oh, thanks. I must have had the trashing Brentford did to Manchester United on my head while writing this 😆. Thanks for your time on this, @tmighty.

Lol... I knew. You guys received similar trashing.

You are welcome.

I will rather term this day a fulfilled day than a day with a minus. Anyways, you added that it was fruitful and that is what matters. Gush, it is an activity packed. Imagine the delicacies. I never knew you could prepare such soup with Amala. Do you know that each time I step into Lagos, I can't leave without Amala and ewedu soup? I love it a lot and seeing this makes me feel hungry for it.

Meanwhile, you were able to enjoy Chelsea match and they won, it's enough to cover up for your inability to play football in the morning due to rain. We are in the season of rain and as such, it is unpredictable.

I am also glad that you added fruits to what you enjoyed today. What a wonderful way to stay healthy!

Thanks for a well detailed diary game. I admire your publications. I am still learning work where you are.

You are quite right, it all ended well and I could hardly feel the minus in the picture.

What a Meal! I think that's all I can say, it's an amazing meal, rich and delicious, very popular in this part of the country. You could have learned how it's prepared, it's actually very easy (at least it would help at this moment to satisfy your craving).

Chelsea's win was one of those things that made my day yesterday 😊. The frequent downpour is one thing we have learned to cope with during this period.

No way! You are one of the bosses we met here so I guess there is still more to learn from you. Thanks for your time on this, ma'am @ngoenyi.

What a Meal!

This is the right expression. Thanks for using it.

You could have learned how it's prepared, it's actually very easy (at least it would help at this moment to satisfy your craving).

That's the problem. I do buy from a vendor and not the one prepared at home. In any case, perhaps you can teach me because I don't think it is late and learning it from you will be awesome. What do you think?

Chelsea's win was one of those things that made my day yesterday 😊

I missed that match yesterday because I was on transit. But am glad they won. They really need the win and I wish they continue winning to be able to compete favourably.

No way! You are one of the bosses we met here so I guess there is still more to learn from you

Hahaha, my professor and Steemit professor! The last time I checked, you are the one with that label and not me. Carry on dear, I am following closely

Maybe one of these days, I will dedicate a article to the preparation of that local meal.

I hope you can catch up with the replay of the match, it's a very interesting one.

...you are the one with that label and not me. Carry on dear, I am following closely

Hmmm... Steemit is a place where we learn continuously. Let's keep learning and giving our best.

Oh. Sorry about the rains. It's a total turn off. As you can't do anything.
I see you were determine to prepare that soup. Going out again and again is much determination.

It looks yummy. And I will I could come and langa😂.

Hummmm Chelsea..keep repeating history. My Bros die hard team 💪

The rain is something we can't do without this season, we have been learning to adapt to the condition while it last.

I see you were determine to prepare that soup. Going out again and again is much determination.

That's because I have planned to make it one of my recipes for the last weekend.

It looks yummy. And I will I could come and langa😂.

Hahaha... Chelsea's win means a lot to my weekend. Thanks for your time on this, @rafk.
