Introduction

It's another precious time to write another piece of article in the community and I hope everyone is doing great. Today, I will be sharing my diary for Sunday and how it all went throughout that day, which includes the good side and the bad ones of the day, all would be told in the piece. Be my guest on this and let's ride together.

Morning Session- Sunday Service

It's the first Sunday of June, it's a special day of worship and it's the day the Youth week of the Nigerian Baptist Convention is starting. I sleep late these days as such most times I tend to sleep till 7 am which is not like that on normal days. With the help of my phone's alarm, I was notified that it was just time to prepare for the day.

I observed my silent time and performed other house chores. The service at the church is starting at 9:30 am today so I quickly got prepared. Momma called between this time with the claims I have not checked on her for the last two days, that's quite true, I got so busy recently. When it was 9:15 am, I was ready and stepped out for the service. I had taken a picture on the way.

The mode of transportation I had adopted today wasn't the usual which is trekking to the nearest bus stop before boarding a commercial bus rather for today, I had utilized a commercial motorbike service for my transportation to the church, this is another popular means of transportation here. He had billed me 300 NGN (1.7 STEEM). After we had reached, I offered the bike man 500 NGN, he didn't have a change such that he visited a petrol station for an exchange of the currency.

I got to the church a bit late, that's around 9:42 am. The service went on so well and the topic of discussion was The Bread of Life, the sermon was great by the Youth pastor. In fact, all the activities were great, ranging from the song ministration, drama and so on. At 12:30 pm, the service ended and I left the church premises.

Afternoon Session- Purchase of Supplement and Banditry Attack News

Having left the church, I didn't go home straight, I had navigated my way to the nearest pharmacy to the church in the quest to get Vitamin C supplement. I have been sneezing so hard recently and this is an indication that I have not been getting enough sleep coupled with stress. The pharmacy (Trumax Pharmacy) wasn't that far anyway, I trekked there. I have shot a picture of their signpost.

At the pharmacy, I got the supplement and also gauze which would be utilized to protect my toes inside the soccer boot. I had shared earlier how my right toe got injured recently and I have been bandaging it such that I can be able to play the game. The total cost of the things I bought at the pharmacy was 400 NGN (2.3 STEEM). I boarded a commercial bus from there.

I got home around 1 pm, took off my clothes, and navigated my way into the kitchen. I was cooking pasta when I checked my phone and saw the disturbing news of a recent banditry attack on a church in a town named Owo in the southwestern part of Nigeria, it's not far from here. It was a massacre, a lot of people were killed with guns inside the church of God. A lot of dead bodies (children and adults) lying in the pool of blood.

The news of the attack was so disheartening, my heart was so heavy and I only managed to eat the pasta when it was done, thinking of the families that lost their people in the attack brought a lot of pain. I heard a whole family was lost in the attack. I chatted with a few friends discussing the situation of the country for some time and I slept later.

Evening Session- Contacting my Family and Commenting on Steemit

It was around 6 pm when I woke from the long rest, I haven't gotten that in a long time (during the day). I navigated my browser to some local websites to read more about the attack, watched the live video of media personnel interviewing about the occurrence, and some eyewitnesses that escaped the attack as they narrated how the whole thing went, insecurity keeps growing in my dear country.

I put a call to my dad, it's been 7 days since we talked. We spent about 6 minutes discussing the situation of things around us. It was a great time discussing with him after about a week. WhenI ended the phone call, I navigated to Steemit and started replying to some comments made in some communities (notably, Steemit Crypto Academy and Steem4Nigeria). At 8 pm, I picked the sliced cakes from the fridge, I had bought them the previous day and it was eaten as dinner.

After dinner, I navigated my browser back to Steemit and continued interacting with articles, that went on for a while before I called it a day. I slept a few minutes after 00:00.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I have taken you on a ride of how I spent my Sunday, it's a day with mixed feelings, the attack on the worshippers was the talk of the town which saddens everyone. We hope that our government does something about insecurity in this country, people are passing through a lot already. Thanks for reading my diary today and I hope you enjoyed reading it, sorry I have to share some burdens with you, it's heavy to keep. I hope to see you next time.

I loved the patterns in your shirt. Does it have a name?

We often refer to this type of cloth as Ankara (African wax prints), that's the local name. They come in different patterns. The one up there is specifically printed for the celebration of the Youth's week here as such it also has the logo of the association on it.

The problems in Nigeria as escalated from corruption to insecurity, we Nigerians are in a lot of soup, what is the country turning into, I couldn’t believe my eye too seeing such a news but the problem with the citizen is the we are quick to forget tragic issues like this, today is the primary election of the presidential election as such that tragic situation will be forgotten as nothing never happened, it such a shame to this nation as i plan to japa as soon as i am able to.

I hope your toes are healing, i suggest you quit football for a while so as to speed your recovery, and by now am sure your are feeling alot better.

Thanks for reading my diary today, @olabillions. The state of insecurity in Nigeria is becoming very unbearable, the following morning was also news about people being abducted in an estate in the federal capital territory. It's pathetic.

That's why most youths have resolved to leave the country so that their dreams are not cut short by the evil occurrences. I was chatting with a neighbor yesterday and I told him, "Nigeria is now a place where you think of the making of living and at the same time think about insecurity".

Achieving full productivity is hard under that kind of condition, we hope for the best anyway because people will soon forget this like you said until another one hits, I pray none hits again, the land needs healing.

Concerning my toe, the old layer has worn out, the toe bears a new nail now, I just want to continue protecting the nails. Thanks for the recommendation, bro.

Oh lord, i haven’t read about this, i should use my google to get more information about this too.

If i have an opportunity rn, i will leave everything behind, on my mums i will leave, because of all of the illicit act in Nigeria i have refused to listened to news ever since then, i cannot be waking up to bad information about my country every morning

I pray none hits again, the land needs healing.
Amen, a big one my boss
