It is always a pleasure having you all here, hope you are all doing well and fine, it @emmaboy23 and Its a wonderful pleasure participating in this contest titled my neighborhood watch organized by our very good steemit admin @xkool24. That being said, I want to navigate through the current state of the Nigerian economy however I will be looking at it from a different perspective unlike what we know, today I will be looking at the impact of the economy on the mental health of Nigerians.

Recently we saw a little increase yet again for the Upton time in inflation that's for the month of May almost 34% and some people have said that by December it may get to 40% even though the government is very sure that inflation would decline before December, we have also seen several other aspect of the economy go in the negative direction but the most important thing about inflation in Nigeria is that we have seen food inflation also go very high and it means that the average man may not be able to afford the things he usually would be able to afford not because he has become lazy but because things have become more expensive. We have also seen transportation when we talk inflation go high and become so expensive that businesses are now finding it difficult to move goods and services from point A to point B. Also the value of the naira is just something else these days, all of these things are affecting the mental health of Nigerians from the elderly to Those in the middle age, to those who are teenagers and to those who are children as well.

So I have decided to make this post to help navigate this current situation in Nigeria. When your mental health is defeated it going to affect your physical health, so your under stress and before you know it your feeling anxious, anxiety and all that and before you know it your also experiencing heart panting, people are having high blood pressure, people are nervous and are feeling not the same with what they used to be. So you can't make a decision or be productive at that point in time because you are not emotionally stable and it is due to the stress that leads to all these things.

Due to the Nigerian economy situation where everything is becoming too expensive to buy we Nigerians need to make alternatives. What can I do with what I have now is the thought we should be having now, we need to stick up alternatives but however before we get to alternatives we need to understand how we are feeling, you know I talked about stress and stress does not let you think rationally, so you need to get yourself in a all reasonable state where you can start thinking okay and know the different alternatives to apply to survive this economic problem. I don't know how we can change things and have everything that we need right now but I think that the question for us now is how can we strive even in this trying times and that means that it is possible that we might never get back to where we used to be but it is also possible that where we are now in all this struggles we can find solutions, we can see opportunities, we can create opportunities as well.

I always use this ideology that there's always two sides to a coin that means that if there are problems they are also solutions but if we Nigerians focus on the problems we can never see the solution because we can only see one side of the coin, so it is very important that we start looking at recognizing that this is our present reality and things are hard and bad and what is the solution because that is the way forward and how can I get better, how can i get alternative for my children's education , how can I get alternative for my lifestyle, what else do i need to do to do better because we can't keep sitting down and hoping that it will be like it used to be. It might not be business as usual, it might be that we need to think out of the box, do different things and we need to shift our mindset from that place of the country is bad. Yes the country is bad and we are not denying it but how can we do better because if we keep staying in that mindset we will never achieve anything to survive in this hard times. What can I do now is the question we should ask ourselves.
