Good day everyone, I hope you are all doing well. I am so excited to be a member of steemit. My write-up today is make hays while the water is still on your feet. It is an idiom which could be interpreted as "complete a set goal on time before it get late".
Moreover, in the days my cousin began secondary school, he got admission into the school and co-incidentally met five of his primary School classmates which they graduated together. As life may be, they started relating as friends, cared for each other, attend classes and even extra tutorial classes in order to achieve their set goals which was to graduate with flying colours. During their junior secondary School class, they studied so hard and achieved an excellent result which came with a reward from the school. They were all happy and they said together "make hays while the water is still on your feet" which was their slogan.
In addition, the five friends got promoted into the senior secondary class 1. This was an honour to them and they continued to remain studious. They represent their School quiz and debate competition which they emerge the winner and the school was so proud of them. They were promoted to the senior secondary class 2 and later promoted to senior secondary class 3.
Furthermore, two of the boys started inculcating a bad attitude by associating with bad friends which influenced their good manners. They became full of themselves by feeling they as seniors and can do what ever they like. After first term of the school session, they had a very poor performance. My cousin and the remaining two boys advised them but they ignored their advise and committed even more crimes in the school. One day, the two boys and their gang started quarrelling and this resulted to serious fight that caused the death of their members. They were expelled by the school authorities and handed over to the police. Eight years after, my cousin and his two studious friends graduated from the University and got a well-paid job. My cousin co-incidentally met one of the boys who withdrew from them to join a bad company, he said that they were sentenced to prison but later bailed out. The worse news was that the other boy died by gunshot on his way back from robbery. My cousin felt sorry and remind him of their slogan "make hays while the water is still on your feet" but the both of ignored that idiom.
CONCLUSION
In everything we do in life, both businesses and academics, we should try as much as possible to achieve our set goals in order to be successful in life.
