Learn with steem: KIDNEY DISEASE

Greetings fellow Authors and welcome to my post. It's a new day, and I'll try again.

For today's post, I will like to make an entry for a contest organized by sir @fredquantum and in this contest, all contestants are required to give a very good lesson to their audience.

I have thought of it for a while, but there wasn't any cool topics coming to my mind, but as a medical practitioner, I decided to use this opportunity to pass a health education to the entire steemit ecosystem.

In this entry, I'll talk about KIDNEY DISEASE because it is the most occuring sickness I have been seeing in federal medical center Umuahia Abia state.

This disease has an acute and a chronic stage, but it is very deadly and it is one of the leading cause of death in Federal Medical Center Umuahia Abia state.

So, on that note, I will like you all to grab a snack or something and let's learn together shall we?

AIM OF TOPIC
Due to the large rate of hospitalization and death occuring in Federal Medical Center Umuahia Abia state due to kidney diseases, I want to use this as an opportunity to health educate everyone about kidney disease so that we'll all have a good knowledge and be able to lead a life style that helps prevent the disease.

WHAT IS KIDNEY DISEASE?

Kidney disease is a variety of disease that badly affects the normal functioning of the kidney.

A normal kidney filters blood cells from water (plasma) to form a filtrate, reabsorb any valuable nutrients in the filtrate and secrete waste product through some tubules into the urine (filtrate) after which it passes down through the urethra to the bladder and temporarily stored before excretion through the gonads.

But in kidney disease, these processes are stoped due to the damage caused in the kidney, which will leading to an oedematous person (the fluid will be entering the tissues and muscles of the person instead of going out of the person)

CAUSES OF KIDNEY DISEASE?
Kidney disease are caused by the most common thing we don't believe will cause it. This disease comes up gradually and eats up a persons life leading to ultimately D-E-A-T-H shivers

Some of the common causes are:

• Drinking herbal medicine

• Smoking

• Alcohol consumption

• Taking of medications without a doctors prescription and supervision

• Infection e.t.c

TYPES OF KIDNEY DISEASES

On this note, there are diverse types of kidney diseases, ranging from acute to chronic;

• Acute kidney Infection

• chronic kidney disease

• polycystic kidney disease

• Glomerular nephritis e.t.c

I wouldn't go deep into these diseases, because they are vast and will take alot of time explaining, however I recommend that you go to Google and get a better knowledge of them.

SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS
The signs and symptoms of this diseases includes the following;

• Nausea and vomiting

• Oedema

• Decreased appetite

• weakness

• Difficulty falling asleep

• Urinating less or more than normal

• Muscle ache

• Dry and itchy skin

• High blood pressure

• Chest pain

If this disease is left unaided, the person will ultimately meet their creator in pains.

MANAGEMENT

Managing this condition is no child's play and some of the times, a kidney transplant is required to save the life of the affected individual. However, I recommend you to seek your doctor's aid if you have the following symptoms.

CONCLUSION
Kidney disease has killed many people and I have witnessed some deaths caused by this disease. I'm not saying this to scare you, but I make you vigilant about your health. There are diverse types of kidney disease and if left unaided, it'll ultimately lead to death.

Please, say no to harbal mixtures and all that, and embrace modern facilities.

In herbal mixtures, the dosage is unknown and you'll not know wether or not you're taking a high dose of it. Taking a high dose however will affect the kidneys gradually and this is the reason you have to say no to it.

Go to the hospital now that your disease has not escalated and be cured.
