The economy of the country has fallen drastically over the years and this can be traced to the late 80s. Nigeria at one point was the lead producer and exporter of various products but now we obtain degrees in importing foreign products

People could sleep with both eyes closed without the fear of armed rubbers kidnappers or terrorists, but the current state of the country has turned almost every citizen into fowl that sleeps with the two eyes open

There was a time job awaited every graduate but today, the federal government is even bold to announce that even if you finish with the best result, there's no job

Also, Inflation has eaten up the country's economy and the minimum wage is not enough to feed an individual for 15 days subtracting every other exigencies

Why I think I'm suitable for the position of president

1. In the six pillars of self-esteem bt Nathaniel Branden, he said "most of us are capable of more than we believe". Ladies and gentlemen, I believe I can, and my capability is beyond my believe. Why I think the presidential position is suitable for me is because I know what it means to leave a life of poverty because I've been in the shoe and I understand how unbearable life was. So looking at millions of Nigerians on the street hustling day and night without getting anything tangible to sustain their family gives me heartache. The comfortability of the citizens would give me joy and my heart will rejoice to see the masses happy as they go about their daily businesses

2. My political stories have always been a groundbreaker in history right from my secondary school days. The door is open for the great Nigerian students to visit my school and ask how I fought the school management gallantly for the sake of the students when I was in the Student Union Government. As a firm and principled man, no one dared use me like a puppet. I'm man enough to decide what's good and right for my country and that's why I've stood my ground to campaign without the help of any political godfather that would eventually be the ones ruling the country while the president remains as a figurehead. And seriously, that has been one of the problems our political system is facing. Having understood that principle, I think the idea of creating the avenue to rule the country without any push or pull from the former leaders would help generate the desired result from the plans I have if elected as the president. However, I won't hesitate to tap and learn from the good ideas from the good leaders found worthy

3. Also, I'm intelligent? Smart, calculative, patient, Social, outspoken and disciplined. I have the ability to interact with other presidents of the world and represent my country honorably

4. I'm a goal setter and a goal achiever. Until I get it done, I never rest. I promise only what I can do so as to maintain my integrity because a good name is better than riches

Some of the pressing issues the people are facing are

security.png

source

1. Insecurity. The incidence of the Boko haram insurgency remains the root cause of the insecurity issues we are facing in the country. Killing and bombing innocent people should not be entertained. Accompanied with the brutal killing is the kidnapping of people to accumulate ransom to secure arms and ammunition and we are aware that the terrorists are planning to take over the country. Apart from the terrorists, it's obvious that some uniform men are taking advantage of the civilians and that was what resulted in the end Sars protest. People that are meant to secure the people became blood hunters. All these must be mitigated

steemit devider.png

Solutions

A thorough investigation would be carried out to get to the root of the terrorists existence. Once their political godfathers are apprehended, dissolving them would be easy. I will do all I can to use the tactics of Smite the shepherd and the sheep will scatter. I think that is an approach the past leaders have not tried so it's likely to be a good idea that would help wipe out the so-called terrorists in the country. This must be done without the fear of what it would result to

To allow the uniform men to do their job diligently, their bonuses and allowances would be increased and paid as when due and sophisticated weapons would be at their disposal. In case of any misconduct, punishment would be rendered with the immediate effect depending on the gravity of the offense

And civilians are accorded the right to report (with evidence) any uniform personnel harassing people on the street or anywhere

2. Poverty. This encompasses many things like unemployment, lack and access to basic amenities, and so on

Inflation has made things super cost and the dollar rate to Naira is around 600. I earlier mentioned that the problem started long ago and it has eaten deep into our economy. The main cause of poverty as far as I'm concerned is the degeneration of our currency. Let me explain

In the past, Nigeria was a net exporter of refined petroleum. We export already refined products to different countries of the world and we generate enough income for the country, so the treasury never lack anything and the country wasn't in debt. Rather, it was our leaders looting and saving the countries money in foreign countries

When we talk of production, we were up and doing in the past. The iron and steel industry was upright and we were able to assemble cars (Peugeot and Volkswagen in Nigeria) with many parts/components produced by us. Leyland produced trucks/buses in Ibadan and ANAMCO in Enugu also produced buses and trucks. Exide located in Ibadan produced car batteries, not just for Nigeria but for entire West Africa. Also, the windshield/windscreen was produced in Ibadan by IsoGlass and TSG. Tyres were produced in port Harcourt and Lagos from our own Rubber plantation located in River state, Ogun state, and Bendel.

Our textile industry was functioning 100%. We produce clothes of different kinds and there has never been time cotton was imported from another country. We produce the raw materials by ourselves

Most of the electronics we used were assembled in Nigeria. The popular one was Sanyo. This is just a short list of how the Nigerian system operates and you know what? It made our economy very balanced and the dollar to Naira rate was ranging between #1 to $0.50, and there was a time it was pegged to $0.99

factory.jpg

steemit devider.png

We had many factories. We refine our oil. We export a series of products to other countries. We were the giant of Africa. But now, all the big and important factories we had had grounded. We cannot refine our crude oil by ourselves. We export it to other countries and pay them to refine our own crude oil. All the plantations we used to know are no more and the country is in serious debt. So tell me, what is the cause of our poverty. It's obvious

The bad governance has gradually wrecked the economic stability of the country and the dollar to Naira rate is at the moment 600. No employment and inflation have rendered our currency worthless. The minimum wage cannot buy foodstuff to sustain a worker for 15 days. All of these are the cause of poverty in the country

steemit devider.png

What is the solution to this problem

We need to go back to those days when we had things in abundance. Production is vital and what we need to do is start reviving all our dead factories. crude oil is above $100 per barrel. Imagine if we set up our refinery and refine our crude oil. What do you think would happen? The price of commodities would drop. The citizens would be able to afford many things with little money. Do you know we also base the up and down of goods on transportation? The market women would say fuel is cost and it affects the cost of transportation that's why there's hike in the price of commodities. This idea will help slash the price of petroleum products which will in turn help reduce the price of commodities and our ranking in the foreign market would improve because more countries would depend on us for many things, and once this begin to happen, our currency would be revived and gradually things will come back to normal

Also, the revival of most of these factories and the creation of more would reduce the problem of unemployment. Also, there would be empowerment programs to equip the widows, less privileged, and the eged that has no ability to work will be placed on a monthly salary

The educational system would also be improved in all part of the country but emphasis would be laid in the Northern part because they have the highest number of illitrates and that's why the terrorist find it easy to brain wash them and recruit them as suicide bombers and fighters. Improved level of education in their region means they would be oriented and as such understand the danger and barbaric nature of the terrorist acts

New Innovation

steemit devider.png

Absolutely, the new innovation I will bring into the system is blockchain technology. The world is evolving and things are done in a smart way. Nigeria has lag behind when it comes to blockchain tech application in our day to day activities. And to think of it, cryptocurrency is banned in the country. Did you know how much El Salvador’s made from the adoption of cryptocurrency?

Talking as a crypto and blockchain enthusiasts, many Nigerian generate income through lots of means on several blockchains, and yet, one third of the population are not exposed to it. Legalizing cryptocurrency and bringing blockchain into lime light would be a good innovation. It would be included in the school curriculum at every level for eceryoe to understand how blockchain works

This can help the citizens to generate another means of livelihood, get skilled in blockchain projects, and it will also expand their horizon and help many to discover their ability in the tech world

Ladies and gentlemen and my fellow Nigerians, the journey of a thousand miles begin with a step. Accomplishment will prove to be a journey, not a destination says Dwight D. Eisenhower . Where I'm going to is not what matters. What is important is accomplishing what aims. I need your support. Long live the people, long live Nigeria

Inflation is a common problem in many countries. In relation to this, it has presented excellent proposals, aimed at the recovery of the oil, manufacturing and textile industries, which will be of great help in reducing unemployment and the high costs of products.

The introduction of the world of cryptocurrencies to Nigeria, by implementing regulations that allow their management, will give it a great boost, to be up to date with economic changes globally.

You are right @yolvijrm. Inflation is really a sucker and it's affecting many counties. And yes, implementation of regulations to manage cryptocurrency is important, because that has been the reason many countries refused to adopt it. Thanks for the wonderful comment. One love

Wow, this is a post full of political determination, the issue of godfather is also a problem as you have mentioned, it amazing to see What you I tend to innovate to see Nigeria at a better spot once again.
Good publication

Thank you, buddy. godfatherism is really killing the system. See what's currently happening in the country. They've turned politics to their fathers' properties and decide the way they want. It's painful we don't have the power to fight those dogs. But our votes will count this time. One love bro

I pray they count the vote appropriately, because this is the aspect at which they hire bad gang and hoodlums to rigging the election

That's my prayer too but the truth is they won't. We all know how they operate. Mat God help us in this country.
