Happy Easter
When I woke up from my sleep, thank God for making me join in celebrating Easter in the year 2024; I went for morning devotion with my family, do my house chores, then dress up for service. We did not eat that morning because it was the last Sunday of the month. We normally have fasting every last Sunday of every month in my family.

Methodist Church Nigeria 67 Udo Umana Street Uyo.

Reaching the church we attended Sunday school which started by 8am. The topic was interesting – contentment during occasion and ceremonies. From there, I learnt to be disciplined in such activities.
When the Sunday school was over the main service started. A lot of activities took place during the service. One of it was groups photographs. Various groups in the church in their uniforms took pictures. I was happy I participated in my uniform being a member of daughters of Wesley fellowship. I also interacted with a friend I had not seen for a while:

Chiomi: Favor, long time, where have you been?

Favor: I have been in the house. I was not feeling well.

chiomi: eyaaa sorry. Hope you have recovered fully.

Favor: no

chiomi: what happened?

Favor: I have diabetes

chiomi: what! Diabetes? How manage?

Favor: it happen last year December. my mother started noticing how am decreasing in weight so one day she brought out what she used to test her own because she is also diabetic and noticed that it has increase from the normal 2.5 to 4.8.

chiomi: (I was shock, I never believed that children can be diabetic. This girl am talking about is someone of 16-18 years). What will you do and when will it end?

Favor: I don’t know but they said it will stop but I have to curtail my eating habit like starchy food, things that have sugar and start eating more of protein and vegetables.

I spent some time with her before we parted ways.

Getting back home, we prayed to break our fast. We ate food that people brought to us as Easter gift. We did not even have time for our own food. After eating the food my siblings and I went to two places that we were invited.

First we went to one of our uncle’s house, played with his children, ate, assist in tiding the house and we left to another place where we were invited to assist in preparing tiger nut drinks.

we stayed there up to 11pm.
Some people escorted us home because it was late. Reaching home my dad asked us to join him in pushing his car that stopped on the road poles away from home. When we were done pushing the car to the house it was few minutes to 12am (midnight) so we had our night prayer which was lead by my father and went to bed.

It was a Sunday full of activities and surprises. I had learned to be contented and be mindful that any body can be effected by any disease, so I should be mindful of the things I eat. Though I was tired at the end of the day yet I was happy I was a blessing to someone who needed my help.
