ENGAGEMENT, HOW SHOULD IT BE
Whenever the world engagement comes in relationship, it simply means it's getting stronger than ever. To my best understanding, engagement means a promise made by 2 lover's to marry each other. It's always a man that took the first step and if the woman accepts to marry him, he will engage her with a ring while the woman engage him back with a ring too. So, anyone seeing the engagement ring will know that this person has a serious life partner. So, engagement is a stepping stone that leads to marriage.
At what age should a woman/man be engaged?
As for me, their is no specific date. But once one is 18 years and above, engagement can took place. Why I said 18 plus is because, anyone from that age is no longer a minor rather an adult. So he or she has the right to chose what he wants according to the constitution.
Things to be considered in a person before accepting engagement.
Before saying to the engagement ring, please consider this following things.
- How does he or she treats his mother and siblings? Because the way he treats those of his family members determines how he will treat you.
Does he take alcohol to calm himself down when he is angry?
Is he capable of taking good care of you? Remember if he can't take care of you, what happens if a child comes in.
Who are his friends?
Is he God fearing
Etc.
The same thing is applicable to ladies. So, before engaging a lady, consider if she can be a supportive woman and consider those things I mentioned above. If the answers is yes, both of you can go ahead and engage yourselves.
How long should engagement last before marriage?
Once their is money to complete the marriage right, no need of waisting time. Within a space of 6 months, you will be able to know everything about your fiance. So, I suggest 6 months to 1 year.
Things that change once mind after engagement.
Many things can change once mind after engagement for example, if the blood group and genotype doesn't match.
Cheating
Not being honest
Always bulling you
Etc.
Is engagement guarantee for marriage?
Impossible, a broken engagement is better than a broken marriage. Is better to quit the marriage than to shorten your life span. So, engagement is not a guarantee that you must marry each other. If you notice anything that you won't tolerate, my brothers and sisters, run for your dear life. Many have lost their life's today due to being with a wrong person.

It's not all about age, is all about the wisdom. I have seen poeple of 40, 50 years who are still fighting with their wife's. Who is still irresponsible that can't provide for their family. Age is just a number, what counts is the wisdom
Exactly the way someone treats their family members, especially their mother and siblings, can be a good indicator of their character and how they may treat their partner in a relationship.
