Steem4nigeria Accelerator Contest Week 75: My fundamental human rights.

in Steem4Nigeria7 days ago

Hello, friends from around the world. It was nice getting the privilege to give my own opinion on the topic "fundamental human rights". Our fundamental rights are important. Some of them are the right to life, liberty, and speech; parents can be early in teaching their kids these rights for their good and the good of both the nation and the world.

How do you explain fundamental human rights?

The fundamental human rights are the basic rights and freedoms which citizens or individuals in the world, irrespective of their race, nationality, religion, and gender, include the following: right to life, right to education, freedom of speech etc. These rights are expected to be known by all to avoid being deprived of your rights due to ignorance.

Facts about the fundamental human rights

The fundamental human rights cannot be taken from any individual; they are, in essence, born rights that have existed before your existence; the day you are born is when you have automatically been granted access to those rights. Another thing about fundamental human rights is that it is highly accepted in a lot of countries around the world; it's a right that is legally accepted by the constitution of the country.

Do you think all the citizens have these rights, or is it only made for the rich? (You can give examples if any).

The concept of human rights states that all citizens are meant to have the same rights regardless of their wealth, all these rights are considered to be inherent to all humans and don't need to be exclusive to the rich, this is the fact that all humans are entitled to basic protection and freedom irrespective of their socioeconomic status. It is called fundamental human rights for a reason, which is that all humans are entitled to these rights for the fact that they are humans.

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights states that all individuals are entitled to fundamental rights regardless of wealth or anything at all. The rights will always remain for both rich and poor because the Government is responsible for creating laws and policies that will be in favor of the citizens, such as to protect them from injustice, including those who are from lower socioeconomic backgrounds.

Have you been deprived of expressing your fundamental human rights before? What action did you take?

To be honest, I have never been deprived of my fundamental rights before because I am always on my right, and when I know my rights,t, I make sure I use them well and not misuse them. But I can vividly recall a situation when my friend was deprived of the fundamental right of speech, this happened in school when the teacher accused him of carrying everyone's pen, the teacher said that he shouldn't say I word because he was notorious for taking people's pen and hiding them before giving it back to them without them knowing it was him until the day everyone found out.

But on this day someone else took the pen, and the teacher in anger said; you are telling my lies while Everyone knows it's you, he was not permitted to say a word from that minute, but after everyone's bags were checked it was discovered that Samuel took the pen instead of Him, the teacher was shocked and consoled him that he was fond of portraying such character which made him accuse him wrong.

The lesson you can learn from this event is to always be on good behavior, the teacher didn't give him the chance to prove his innocence due to his attitude of taking everyone's pen, I advise that we should be on our best behavior and always be honest and truthful, Samuel was punished for not coming out clean that he didn't take everyone's pen in the class, saying the truth sets you free.

Mention and explain at most three fundamental human rights of your country.

Here are the three main fundamental rights in my country Nigeria.

  1. Right to life: This is a right that is not only guaranteed in Nigeria but all over the world, except in the case of lawful arrest, self-defense, and lawful execution.

  2. Freedom of expression: This is a law that is accepted in my country fully but with some exceptions, like regulation of national media and national security.

  3. Right to dignity: This is one of the most important laws in the Nigerian constitution, which states that no Nigerian can be subjected to slavery, forced labor torture, etc.

The fundamental human rights are of privilege to all humans and citizens of Nigeria; these rights are protected through the Federal constitution of Nigeria, and other rights are present in the constitution.

  1. Right to privacy and family life.
  2. Right to freedom of movement.
  3. Right to personal liberty.
  4. Right to a fair hearing.
  5. Right to freedom from discrimination.
  6. Right to freedom of conscience, thought, and religion.
  7. Freedom to peaceful assembly and association.
Which of the fundamental human rights should be removed from the law? (Give your reasons).

The following rights;

Are not expected to be removed, There is no need for the removal of any right, because all rights have their different significance in the lives of all humans, I will end by saying that you should all know your rights as citizens and humans, the fundamental human rights give you courage and support you for embarrassments and wrong decisions, making a decision which may result to you violating any of the fundamental human rights can be avoided when you know about them.
