My family: The role of family

Family as the name implies is the strongest bond every human is born into. I don't normally talk about this bond that I have with my family, but to be honest, that is the best type of bond that will ever exist.

When we're born into this world, nature selects a family for us. This family then take it as a responsibility to make sure we are doing okay.

The role of family is our life is immense. That is where we first make our friends, and they're also in charge when it comes to training us to get a good personality and societal norms. Our family helps us and gives us that unconditional love we demand. They give us support. They also guide us throughout our path in life.

My family, your family, our family are the most closest people who can provide us with the immediate and best support due to the fact that they know us well. Even if na emotional support we need, dem go give us the best.

Whenever I make new achievements in life, my family are the first to celebrate it. They celebrate all my successes and achievements. Family makes my life meaningful.

Sometimes, we get to hear people insulting there family members. Saying they regret coming to such families. God, the owner of men gives you something and you're saying his selection is wrong??? Omo you sef.

Na our families dey give us correct emotional support, wey involve money support, educational support, and may be some kind things wey we fit no get outside our families.

On this educational part, I can assure you that our families are the best on that part. Think of how they invest their time, support, and money on you just to finish school and become a responsible individual someday.

Sometimes kuma, our families might not have the resources of sending us to school, but we must understand that it's not their fault. We should also try our best to give them our maximum support.

Normally, we gets love and care from our immediate family, but in real it also extend beyond our immediate family members. We get cared for from our uncles, aunties, cousins and even our grandparents.

Like my grandmother will always say, she wants us to always come back home so that she will build our cultural identity for us. Whenever we go to the village, she always don't want us to go back. Support comes from different angles of the family.

Our Uncles and aunties on the other hand gives us a broader, like extended support and help us maintain important connections with our relatives. Most people will say they don't like their uncles or aunties because of one thing or the other.

Yeah I'm not against them. They're some uncles and aunts that don't give support to their nephews or nieces. We will all understand this if they don't have the capacity to support, but no..... they're lots of then that have what it takes to support but still won't do it. That's why you'll see most Nigerians be like; "My uncle is wicked. My aunt is stingy."

For me, I think we should keep our heads focused on doing something that will help us instead of constantly depending on others, and coming back to insult then if they refuse to give us anything. Just like the saying goes; "It is only the man who begs too much who knows those that are good and selfish.

Our parental roles

Our parents role in our lives and the lives of our family members is very important. Like the mothers, they are our caring figures, they nurture us. In fact, they're all we've got when it comes to proper family support.

Our fathers on the other hand are seen as our protectors and providers. Sometimes, their roles in the family do changes.

No debate when I say I love my father, but honestly, my mom is the best family I've got. She usually gives me that emotional support I need, I feel comfortable being around her. Most times, my friends will call me mommy's boy. No problems, I love it that way.

The connection between my mom and I is more than that of Hakimi and his Mom😂
She sacrifices a lot for me, for my siblings. Most time, she'll displease herself to please me and my siblings. Just to make sure that we are happy to the core.

Just like my mom, every mom teaches their children the important skills in life. We learn how to cook from them, how to clean, how to relate with people, how to talk, and even our self-care.

Fathers again are the main family providers. They also make sure we have what will sustain us.

Today my dad is late, but I can say that he was a hero. He has given all he have for this family and for his nation. We saw him as the protector of the family. He made sure no harm came to us. I wished he never died. I missed him so much😢😭

My dad is my role model. He was hardworking, responsible and God-fearing. That's how I want to father my children.

All these roles can change just like I said earlier. They are some circumstances that may alter these roles. But the underlined part is that; Our family are the best. They made us who we are today.

Don't get me wrong when I say "family". It mustn't be your biological family. Some people grew up with other families, the importance their is how they valued you. Did they treat you well?? Did you ever love them. That's what we should ask ourselves.

Before I go, we should know that our mom and dad are the best. They provide us with unconditional love, support, and guidance, shaping us into the people we become. We should be grateful for their contributions to our lives and strive to show them the same love and support in return.
