The situation in life shows that the scenes of this world is changing. If we could change as humans, how much more inanimate things? These changes has caused many to remember the good old days than the present.

MENTION 5 THINGS THAT WAS THERE IN YOUR COUNTRY 10 YEARS BACK THAT ISN'T HERE NOW?
  • LANTERN: the traditional lantern is no more because it’s been replaced by LED lamps, torches and other better light sources. It was used as a light source then and it was risky cause of the glass globe and chances of the kerosene which was the fuel source pouring which might result in fire outbreak were reasonable. Back then personally I received lots of lashing cause I had a knack for breaking the glass globe of lanterns.

  • JAVA PHONES: In 2014, the market was dominated by Android and Windows phones, although there were still plenty of Java button phones available. Individuals now possess android devices.

  • VIDEO RENTAL OUTLETS: A common sight in many communities, video rental outlets have all but vanished in the past 10 years as the popularity of streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Prime has reduced demand for physical media like DVDs and Blu-rays.

While many may view the closure of video rental stores as a loss, there are some positive aspects to it as well. For example, the amount of plastic waste produced by physical media has decreased, and it has made it easier for independent filmmakers to get their work seen. Increasingly, high-speed internet access has made it easier for people to stream movies and TV shows directly to their devices.

  • KEROSENE STOVE: The kerosene stove can be rightly considered as an artifact. Since the advent of the gas cookers and cylinders. The later has been more efficient, safer, faster and economical, because of this features the kerosene stove has been on a steady decline from Nigerian homes.

  • COMPACT DISCS (CDS) and DIGITAL VERSATILE DISCS (DVDS): Compact discs (CDs) and digital versatile discs (DVDs), which show videos and music on tapes and discs, were widely available. However, with the rise of streaming services like Netflix, YouTube and Spotify, which are becoming increasingly popular, the use of CDs and DVDs has decreased.

HAS THESE CHANGES AFFECTED YOU? IF YES, HOW. IF NO, TELL US YOUR SECRETS

Personally, it has affected me on a large scale. Lost my aunty this year, she was ill and the bill was N400,000 We didn’t have that kind of money, sadly I watched my aunty pass on. As at 2015 her diagnosis was 85,000.

The price of cement has not enable my Dad to complete our family house and that was one of his lifelong dream. I can’t pay for the certification of my degree in school cause of the increase of the amount from N15,000 to N35,000.

There are other scenarios but wouldn’t want to bring all my personal experiences to bare.

I invite @bossj23, @hahdie and @okere-blessing
