A famous singer once sang * ... Heal the world, make it a better place, for you and for me and the entire human race*.

The lyrics of the song always brings to my mind the pain, the sufferings and other distressing circumstances passed through by many children all around the world.

One of the basic necessities of life is food. It is said that the level of hunger around the world is very alarming despite all human efforts to curb that.

Great thanks to @smilenigeria and @steemkidss for the wonderful initiative of distributing food items to young ones in the school.

Morning Activities

I started my morning with a football activity. I went to the gym field to play football with friends and colleagues. This is done every Wednesday of the week. It is a way of strengthening my muscles and keeping fit, since it looks as if I am beginning to have a protruding tommy. Hahaha. But not to worry, i am seriously watching it, trying to keep my balance.

Immediately after the football exercise, I hurriedly went home to get ready for the A child a million smiles programme we had with a school.

In my introduction, I mentioned hunger as a serious menace to growing children, so we have been distributing cooked or uncooked food to small children in various schools. In the course of doing this, I found out that many young ones leave their homes to school without eating anything.

Thus this sustainable feeding programme have brought a lot of smiles to the faces of these young ones. Even if it is uncooked food, they are certain of something to it once they get back home.

Green Stars International School

This is the name of the school that we are going to after have pre-booked today with the school proprietor. We agreed to come by 11 am.

On our arrival to the school, the proprietor said that we will have to give them sometime so that the children will finish their midterm test.

However after the food sharing program, the kids will be embarking on a midterm break.

IMG-20250221-WA0019.jpgIMG-20250221-WA0007.jpgHaving some fun while waiting for them.

So we waited for them to finish their classwork and to get them arranged and ready for the program.

So as you can see, the children were lined up in orderly fashion according to their classes or grades. Not all the students in the school participated in this exercise, since we had a targeted number of 150 kids based on the resources available. However arrangement is in place to reach out to the remaining students.

As soon as the sharing of the food started everywhere became joyous. The kids were excited at receiving the food. This time the school management preferred it raw. So we did just that.

The video and pictures below wil show you just how happy the kids were.

Can you imagine the joy filled in the hearts of those children? Words alone cannot explain it. Giving always brings joy both to the giver and the receiver, but more comes to the giver because of seeing the impact his actions has created on another persons life.

We really spent sometime there since no one was in a hurry to leave.

So many steemians came along to support each other in this programme and for that we want to say a big thank you to all of them.

The children performed some dance steps to the delight of everyone there.

It is very rare to see happiness and joy in peoples faces considering the economic hardship being faced in the country.

So thank you @smilenigeria, @worldsmile and @steemkidss for making this possible.

Thanks for sharing this charitable activity done in that school. Their facial expressions said it all. There are many out there who really need help, not just the school but the pupils therein. You've said it all in words. Looking forward to next week's charitable activity.
