As children, we all often absorb those beliefs and stories shared to us by the adults around us. Those tales, often times woven us with good intentions, it can as well shape our fears and of course our perceptions in such a way we don’t fully understand. So Today after finding this week topic interesting and something I can't miss talking about during my childhood days, I'll be sharing with this community some of the lies I did grew up believing and as much how they affected me.

What were the lies you believed while growing up?
  • One which was the most vivid memories I was told and was so scary to me is being told not to look in the mirror precisely at night. Almost all my elders warned me about it and that if I do, I might definitely see ghosts instead of seeing my own reflection.

This very idea terrified me alot. So friends Imagine being so afraid nothing else but your own face that you do hesitate to look at it! Each time then I walked by a mirror after the sunset, my heart always raced. The thought of maybe encountering a ghostly figures instead of myself did kept me from getting too close to it.

What was your reaction after finding out the truth as an adult?

When I finally grewed up and also learned the truth which I've tested and it's proven, I was so surprised. There were no ghosts at all nor anywhere waiting to jump out at me from the glass; it was just my own reflection, no unchanged and familiar. The fear I do had felt for years was like nothing but a shadow of just imagination, created by the stories I had been told then.

you subscribe to telling lies to young minds in a bid to protect them or you choose to call a spade a spade?

Now, as I look back to that, I really wonder: is it really right to tell children stuffs like these kinds of stories? Sincerely I so believe in honesty. so I choose to talk to the young minds about the truth of everythings instead of wrapping it in fabrications. It’s really important to guide them gently, therefore helping them understand the world as it is, while really helping in teaching them how to face their fears and overcome it. so I rather call a spade a spade.

In conclusion,
The lies we all grow up believing then can shape our lives in such a way we might not really realize until we’re older. I do believe almost all of us have some kind of lies we did believe While growing die to how it was present to us.
While some of the stories may seem so harmless, it’s very much vital to empower the children with the truth. By really doing so, we help free them from all the unnecessary fears and allow them to really embrace their reflections—both in the mirror and also in life. Please Let’s choose clarity over confusion, and so light over shadows.

Thanks for the invitation I really appreciate Yes, when we were growing up they fed us with a lot of lies sometimes I wonder which of them is true, I was even told that eating in the dark is not good because you will be eating with ghosts, I was even told that there is a land at the sky where plane drop to enable the pilot to rest and also the people inside the plane to enable them to sleep and continue their trip the next day.

¡Holaaa amigo!🤗
