I hope everyone is doing well! Thank you so much @benton for coming up with such an awesome contest draw a octopus, that I’d be happy to be part of. In this work, I wanted to describe the octopus which is an intelligent independent creature and has interesting look. In attempt to create this artwork I wanted to accentuate the many twists and turns, bright colors, and interesting skin patterns which make the octopus such an interesting creature. I hope you liked the details I put in this drawing!
✅White paper,
✅ Pencil
✅Eraser
✅and a sharp black pen.
Let’s walk through the process of creating this octopus drawing step by step:
✅Step 1: Starting with the head I first put a circle that would act as the head of the octopus. This will form the body in formative of the organism from which the tentacles will germinate.
✅Step 2: Then I continued the outside outline by drawing curved lines protruding from its body; Bent the tips by making them round to illustrate the tentacles. I ensured I added all eight of them so that it would have the look of an octopus.
✅Step 3: Drawing the Eyes As option two was to draw the tentacles of the octopus, I proceeded to draw the eyes of octopus to bring out the liveliness of the head.
✅Step 4: Adorning the Tentacles To increase the level of detail on the tentacles, I made short curved lines and spots which are the texture and suction cups on the suckers. This step makes them more realistic and complex than before because the observers cannot understand the situation themselves.
✅Step 5: Drawing with Black Pen Once the complete sketch of the octopus and the detailed parts of the figure where laid down I proceeded to draw with a black pen on the figure of the octopus and its tentacles, to give strength to the lines.
✅Step 6: Shading I finished with shading which I did using the pencil. This step enabled me to create the view of the real 3D form of the octopus by giving it a model of the shadows and highlights. I draw the tentacles and the body very well and made the Octopus to be full and complete in its image.
With all these steps, I was able to finish drawing an octopus and looking at the piece I wanted smile and felt that it was excellent.
An octopus is a wonderful marine animal in the Cephalopod class, with tentacles, big, suction cups, a soft body and a high degree of intelligence. It is found in oceans throughout the world and uses camouflage on its body and agility to avoid its predators, catch its prey. It’s flexible too, so can squeeze into tight spaces, and can even change color to match its surroundings. Problem solving and some very strange behaviors have made octopuses one of the very most fascinating sea creatures.
I think the octopuses tentacles are the most interesting part of the octopus. They have several important functions, so are highly versatile. In fact, the octopus uses its tentacles for movement: gliding through the water, as easily as it can swim. The tentacles themselves are simply bristling with suction cups much more powerful than anything else on the planet, enough to grip, pinch and manipulate objects, as they are required to be in order to hunt and kill crabs and small fish and the like.
But what I find most interesting is that these tentacles are also sensory appendages that the octopus uses to explore and feel around in. Talent for the octopus tentacles is amazing, it’s able to gently handle or just hold firmly, all very useful for its survival.
