Introduction |
---|
Hello dear Steemian, I'm glad to be here and take part in the contest of this year's self-evaluation, and hope that my input will go a long way to educate others in one way or the other.
Do you believe in Self-evaluation at every year's end? give your reasons for a Yes/No |
---|
Yes, I believe in self-evaluation and would define it to be a period or process where a person reflects on his or her performance in a year.
The reason for self-evaluation is, that it can take different forms, ranging from the goals we set to the achievements, strengths, and weaknesses.
Through evaluating myself I will realize my strengths and weaknesses. This gives room to learn, adjust, and improve.
What were the events and circumstances that taught you big lessons? |
---|
Such an event that taught me a big lesson has to do with my plan to set up a fast food joint where I was selling fried eggs and indomie that will help me with daily income as the course of living is not easy in my country. I had it set up and began the business but that lasted for just a few months.
Let me tell you what I did not consider.
First, I didn't assess my strength in the business, that is, if I would be able to run it alone or need assistance. I constantly felt tired at the end of the day and wasn't able to resume early the following day.
The season of starting the business was not good enough because May is the month of serious rain business doesn't move well.
Secondly, the location of my business was not considered, and as a result, I suffered a lack of customers. I didn't inquire about the environment it was not conducive at all so I ended up being bullied by the caretaker, this made me have anxiety, self pitied at all times.
I almost got hidden by a machine one day, thanks to God for the constant tiredness that prevented me from going early, on getting there in the evening I met a scattered kiosk.
Thirdly, I suffered loss of finances, and depression set in as I recounted my loss I became physically, mentally, and emotionally down, and I'm yet to recover.

Do you think you have learned from those events and happenings, if yes tell us what you learned and how it can be useful for the year ahead |
---|
Yes, I have learned lessons.
I will not just get into any business no matter how good it is without analyzing it, like I said very important strength whether it is a kind of business I can manage alone or will need assistance or partner with a like-minded person.
Secondly, I will assess the location of the business, not the location alone, it could be a good one but the environment and the people around should be carefully considered.
When will I close from this business evening or night? Am I living far away from my business place? Have I made provision for going home late at night? How much will I spend on transportation? With the type of business I will venture into in the year ahead would consider the category of people that will be attracted to it best on the quality of services I will be giving
Thirdly, I will consider the type of business that thrives in the environment I'm choosing.
I will not also fail to consider the season.
I didn't consider these at all when I planned for my businesses this year that's why I suffered setbacks and it can't happen in the year ahead.
In the year ahead I will carefully consider the above so that I won't suffer what I'm suffering this year. I also encourage everyone to take an analysis of any business before venturing into it. Learn from my mistakes.
