You can know alittle about almost anything without restrain and it’s even easier now that we are at the Information Age.
Our last edition was on dealing with the subject of loyalty and disloyalty and we went ahead to see that one of the blessings of life would be to have loyal people and we also saw how to dicipher between loyal and disloyal people.
This week we would be looking at the subject of leadership. This subject can never be over emphasized. If a family, society, company and country will do well, it all boils down to the leadership.

My opinion about the book “The art of Leadership’’
Introduction/Theme
Alright let’s start with the fact that this book had a whopping one hundred and twenty three chapters. Beat that. In the beautiful pages of this book are wisdom nuggets that would sky rocket you into the vast world of leadership and all it entails to be a successful leader.
The call to leadership is a call to work no matter how big or little. One of the most difficult things to do in life is to lead people if you would agree with me.
Humans beings are difficult to deal with and worse when it’s people from different walks or life, with different ideologies, backgrounds and mindsets.
Do you see why leadership is an Art? Nobody is a born leader. Are you a leader already or looking to lead, let’s glean some knowledge from the pages of this master piece. Shall we?
Key points from the chapters
There’s a popular saying that if you are leading and nobody is following you, you are simply taking a walk. How interesting? So you have to know how to lead and let people follow you without compulsion. What qualifies or wisdom can one apply to be a good leader?
- Leadership starts with a decision, not just a decision to lead but a decision to be a good leader. There are many leaders but I don’t know if there are many good leaders. Decide to be one of the many good leaders in the world.
Whatever is worth doing is worth doing well. Be the kind of leader that people would want to make reference to and look up to and model after and not a bad leader. Many people are leading but they are bad leaders. Lead by example, you’d make more impact that way.
- As a leader, in all you getting, get integrity. Be a leader that has good intergrity. A good name is better to be chosen that riches. Most leaders lack integrity. Aside your integrity, give people hope and be a man of conviction.
Be persuaded about what you are doing and where you are going so that you can be able to stand and lead in the face of challenges.
- Do you know that leaders are readers? Spend your money and get books that you would read. Choose hard and difficult things and not easy things as they build your character. Be someone who embraces new ideas easily.
Be someone who is focused. Have eyes for excellence. Do not do things haphazardly or in a mediocre way. Be a man of your words and concentrate your efforts in your strengths.
- Be a decisive person, know your limitations and Maximize your strength, make people obey you willingly in your presence and absence. Be a people person, help them achieve things for themselves and be a man of passion and direction.
In your leadership walk, you must accept the dilemma of loneliness, most leaders are lonely people. You must learn to inspire hope in people and reproduce yourself in people. Don’t be a Lone Ranger.
I could really go on and on but how much can I say to cover what was said in 123 chapters of 237 pages. These are only snippets.
What will you gain if you don’t get to lay your hands on this book and soak yourself in its all time wisdom? Nothing!!!
My rating of the book
The Art of Leadership is a life changer. You would be glued to it pages like the next breath you would take will come from it. Why not give it a try.
I would give it a 10/10 rating. It’s an all inclusive book on leadership and is resourceful to any genuine leader No withstanding your sphere of leadership.
Conclusion
This book would make you want to develop yourself and delve into the shores of leadership. It would make you see leadership from a different light which would dissolve every doubt you have as to leadership and what it entails.
You would come out of its pages on the other side wiser, bigger and a better leader. Let’s get to it.
