Greetings and welcome to my blog. As the year comes to an end, I bring us the 32nd edition of The Green Spotlight. The green spotlight is a weekly blog where I review interesting books with the aim of wetting our reading appetite to peruse the pages of these great books and draw out so much for ourselves.
Reading is one of the greatest virtues we can cultivate. Not just any kind of reading but books that are inspirational in nature and would motivate us to become the best of who we are.

This week we are going to look into a very important book that deals with a very sensitive part of our lives and the subject of dating. The tittle of the book for this weeks review is “Waiting and dating”.

My opinion about the book “Waiting and dating”
Introduction/Theme
Dating has become and integral part of our culture and there has been many opinions about what dating should be and what it shouldn’t be, about who should date and who shouldn’t and in general about when to start dating and when not to.
The writer in this interesting piece shared from his experiences and from the scriptures his thoughts on dating, the purpose of dating and when to date or not.
Let’s look at some interesting tips to take away from the pages of this great book.

Key points from the chapters
- Dating is the getting together of two people in a bid to learn themselves. Before we would talk about dating, the writer reiterated on the waiting period. Remember the title of this book is waiting and am dating. Meaning that before the dating, there’s a time to wait.
The waiting period is a time for us to develop ourselves mentally, intellectually and spiritually. The waiting period is the singleness period. Every single person must understand that Singleness is a blessing and a period to work on ourselves and be all that God has designs to be. We must be single and complete.
- In dating, we must seek to connect spiritually and intellectually first but these days, the order has been reversed and young people tend towards physical connection without discovering if they are compatible spiritually and mentally which leads to more complications and inability to separate when they discover incompatibility.
In dating you must decide to put boundaries and what you want your relationship to look like before going into it else you may be signing up for compromise even before you start. Both parties must decide to follow Godly Standards.
- Dating has a purpose which is discovering ourselves. The both parties must discuss important matters to help them understand themselves and our family support and advice is needed when making decisions for life time relationships.

My rating of the book
This is an all comprehensive book on dating and it’s very encompassing. I give it a rating of 8/10.
Conclusion
We can have great relationships if only we know the way to go about it and apply the right principles which is what this book provides. It would be great to take a peek at it.
