My opinion about the book “Eat That Frog”
Introduction/Theme
Frog? Did I just say eat that frog. Ewwww. Who want to eat an ugly looking live frog. Well me, and you’d be joining me on the table. Get your fork and knife buddy. We get some ugly live frog to cut up and eat. Ewwww. Gross right?
Well the frog here ain’t a typical frog. I have been wondering how to deal with procrastination and I decided to look up a book that deals with the subject procrastination and boom, Eat that frog pops up and I decided to delve into it.
So join me as we see some nuggets to dig up from Eating this frog, shall we?
Key points from the chapters
- We all have several battles we deal with in a bid to make judicious use of our time and meet up with targets. Sometimes we never get to meet up with our targets and sometimes we keep pushing them over and over hoping for the best time which never comes hence leading to procrastination which is one of the root cause of unproductiveness.
People who are successful have equal amount of time from the average person, but tend to achieve more. There is something they are doing that the average person doesn’t do and hence more results. One of the ways to succeed is to find out what successful people do and follow likewise.
- One of the keys to success is the definiteness of your purpose. You must know what you want and decide to follow it. When you’ve decided, you must be determined to stay with it and be diligent to continue until it works. Not knowing what one wants is the beginning of failure and emptiness.
Have you tried to form a new habit and finding it difficult? Try the Three D’s of forming a new habit.
- Have you heard that goals not written down with deadlines are mere wishes. To deal with procrastination, you must learn to sit down and envision your goals.
What do you want to achieve in a year’s time, write them down as if you’ve achieved them. Put in place practical steps to achieve them and don’t stop there, put deadlines to the goals else they would only be figments of your imagination.
- Have you ever wondered how to take on a big project? Take it bit by bit just like how you eat an elephant, bit by bit. That’s how you eat your ugliest frog too, by taking it bit by bit.
Have you heard about the six P formula? Maybe or maybe not. Why not find out all about it in this book.
- The insights in this book are over whelming, there are actually 21 laws on how to deal with procrastination succinctly divided and trashed in this book, so where do I start from, hence to get the best of it, this is a sure read. Delve in now.
My rating of the book
Frankly speaking , I wasn’t ready for what this book had to offer. It was a roller coaster of emotions for me as I glared at the reality in its pages.
I give it a rating of 9/10. It’s good and very practicable.
Conclusion
Are you struggling with procrastination and been thinking of a way out. Your solution is staring right at you. Delve in and thank me later. Meanwhile you would be needing a pen and a paper as you would have some practicals to do. Eat that Frog!
