Is Poverty Man-made or Life Happens?

Poverty is real even though no one wants to experience it and that’s why so many people work hard. But what if someone works hard and still doesn’t escape poverty? There are practically people like that.

Is poverty and not having money the same thing? Explain

No! These two are not the same thing. Poverty is the state of having insufficient amount of money for the goals you want to achieve. On the other hand, not having money is the situation in which the person lacks some funds at that moment but this doesn’t mean the person is poor or in poverty.

Anyone in poverty may not even have a hope that someone is coming from somewhere but a person who doesn’t have money tends to sort themselves fast.

Do you think poverty is Man-made or situations in life make it happen? Mention 2 main causes of poverty in your country.

Situations in life? Maybe yes but most of what causes poverty is man-made.
One thing that causes poverty in my country is laziness. I’ve met people including those who come to my shop and I’ve truly seen that laziness causes poverty. Some people prefer to beg than to work and the economy keeps getting worse everyday that anyone who’s lazy may not be able to keep up with it.

Another thing that causes poverty is unemployment. This is actually where the government is supposed to come in but I have rendered them so useless so I just do my thing and find every way to make money and put food on my table. Out of no opportunities, we just have to create one. You can use your God given skills to make money and you won’t be in poverty.
It’s as easy as that even though it may not be an easy process.

Give a life experience to justify that poverty is either man-made or situations in life cause it.

Baba Ayo, the landlord’s son eventually inherited his father’s house after his father died. Before his father died, the house was no more in a good condition which made all tenants leave.

Baba Ayo won a sum of one million Naira and gambled with it instead of renovating the house so that he can earn from it even though he may not make money.

Sadly, Baba Ayo is still in poverty because he never made a million Naira again since then and the one he saw, he gambled with it.

Someone refuses to scam people to make a fortune and elevate himself from poverty. Will you say the person is the reason he's still poor or will you say he's being content with the poverty? Justify your answer.

I’ve seen a man who won ten million Naira from gambling, he bought a car with the money, gambled with the car again and went back to zero. He didn’t have a penny and that’s the same as poverty. If you are a person who has a poor mindset, you will remain poor and never escape it.

So even if the person engages in scam, if you give the person sometime, he will go back poor.
Well, I won’t encourage anyone to engage in scam because I may be a victim tomorrow and we gotta be careful of what we do.
