Unfortunately nobody in the English speaking world has adopted this game so far. Maybe too much work… 😉
We play it here in Nigeria. I know a couple of Scrabble champions even from my state — Akwa Ibom State. But we play mostly English words from CSW21. Now I wish I knew how to speak German.
Wellington Jighere from Nigeria became Scrabble world champion in 2015. He doesn't speak English very well (as he says about himself), but he has memorized the Oxford Dictionairy. Wow!
Go ahead: memorize the Duden (the German reference dictionary) and you can play here with good chances.... ;-)
Echt!? Das wäre tatsächlich mal eine Leistung... und in der Tat eine Möglichkeit für Fremdsprachler in unserem kleinen Spielchen. Wobei der Gorilla ja auch ohne dieses Talent ganz gute Runden absolviert hat.
Jo, irgendwie machen die das. Irgendein sehr guter, bekannter deutscher Spieler, scrabbelt auf diese Weise auch in Frankreich in der oberen Liga mit. Alles Autisten... ;-)
Der Gorilla hat je etwas Deutsch in der Schule gelernt. Und er war auf Schüleraustausch. Als ich ihn fragte, wo ("Kennst du sowieso nicht, ganz kleiner Ort, kennt niemand"), war das Eis gebrochen. Das Örtchen liegt ganz dicht an meiner Heimatstadt, ich kenne sogar die Schule, wo er war, von innen.
