What a shame. We need to have stakeholders with a good mindset, whether they actively participate or not. Sometimes you've got to step away for a while. If and when I get to that point, I will probably follow a few trails at 100% and archive my keys. Maybe come back in a year and see what's up.
Well, he's had a hands off approach for a while. So, I would say he most likely did what you described, and decided it's time to go.
