"SECS 8 Week 6: How do I want to grow old?"

Facing old age must be thought of early on. Because everything we do now will greatly affect our old age later. The most important thing is the health that we have to take care of so that we can still do our usual activities without having to bother other people. Therefore, a routine that we do well will really help us. With a healthy life, we will also live long and enjoy old age happily and even see our children and grandchildren grow.


1- How do you want to age: healthy and energetic or limited and dependent on medication?

I think everyone wants to live a healthy life, from children to adults, even when they are old. I want to live healthy and full of energy. I don't want to trouble anyone when I'm old. I want to keep doing sports even if it's just walking leisurely enjoying the morning atmosphere and cool air. By living a healthy and energetic life, I will be happy and have a long life even though it is a secret of fate.

I also want to see that my children and grandchildren will not feel anxious when I go to the bathroom or just change clothes. I want to hold my grandchildren, care for them, play with them, and do things with them like my grandmother did until now. He never bothered us even though he had cataracts in his eyes and was one-sided blind. And until now he is 69 years old and he still holds a hoe and cleans the garden.

2- What are you doing to reach the old age you long for?

I am currently entering adulthood and I want to live a healthy life from an early age because it will greatly affect our health in old age.

  • Therefore, I routinely drink warm water when I wake up in the morning and also when I go to sleep at night. This will neutralize toxins in the body.
  • Apart from warm water, I also consume healthy food without MSG and keep it fresh by planting it in my yard without pesticides. Consuming organic food would be better, and avoid canned food as much as possible.
  • I have also started doing activities energetically which will become my habit and will affect my body's strength when I get old.
  • Think positively and build a positive atmosphere wherever I am, make peace with myself so that my heart and body don't get tired easily, causing excessive stress.

3- Are you afraid of growing old, yes or no? Justify your answer.

Getting old is a natural state that someone will go through. I will be very happy to enjoy every process that occurs in my life. Be grateful and don't complain and try to do the best for yourself because everything we do is for ourselves too. I really salute those who are older than me, they are very strong and have soft hearts and I see that from my parents. especially when I want to grow old with my beloved husband ❤.

Getting old is not a mistake, but a symbol of age maturity. Let's live a healthy, energetic and long life because life's journey will be more beautiful if we arrange it beautifully and healthily from an early age.


4- Do you have any experience to share with us about an older adult who is an example for you to follow?

She is my mother. Being a mother of 5 children is not easy. Since when I was little, in the morning he took us to school using a bicycle far away, washing, mopping, and also shopping. In the afternoon he picks us up and prepares us lunch, and in the evening he helps us repeat the subject that was taught by the teacher at school, then he scrubs the clothes and after that he goes back to cleaning the house and then he sleeps.

I saw how she struggled and until now she is still energetic and many people even say my mother is young and very healthy, I hope it will always be like that. He doesn't eat fast food or packaged food. He also always eats on time and is disciplined with time, even until then he still does. I salute him and I wish him a long and healthy life.
