How to Make Timphan Cake

Hi everyone.
In today's post I will tell you about the typical culinary in my village, namely timphan, and also how to make timphan cakes starting from the initial process, until they are ready to be eaten.

First we make the dough from wheat flour, and give it warm water.

After that prepare raw cooking oil, the goal is for us to apply it to the banana leaves, so that when we pour the dough it doesn't stick. After that we give grated coconut which has been given a mixture of sugar and natural dyes, so that it looks more beautiful.

Continue by wrapping it into a banana leaf. This process will take about 20 minutes, depending on how many timphan cakes we make.

After everything is wrapped in banana leaves, continue with steaming. Turn on the stove, then steam the timphan until cooked. The steaming process may take 30 minutes. After that serve timphan, then it's ready to eat.

Timphan cake is usually served on the big day of Unmad Islam, or when welcoming guests. For us, the people of Aceh, Timphan is a legendary cake that cannot be separated from everyday life, Haro.
