Книжковий хробачок, огляд 50: Хлопчик, що перепив океан у кріслі - Little bookworm, review 50: a boy, who overswimed an Ocean in an armchair

Доброго ранку, шановна спільното!

Сьогодні у мене черговий огляд на книгу, і цього разу це книга Лари Вільямсон "Хлопчик, що перепив океан у кріслі".

Обкладинка обіцяє нам незвичайну історію про мужність, мрії та пошук шляху і уточнює, що книга знаходиться у категорії Ypung Adult. Що ж, усе як я люблю.

По факту до цієї категорії вона трохи не дотягує, або сильно не дотягує та все ж таки розрахована на більш юних читачів. Нам розповідають історію двох хлопців 7 і 10 років. Однієї ночі батько розбудив їх, звелів терміново пакувати речі і перевіз у новий будинок, де захотів почати нове життя без своєї подруги. Хлопцям було зовсім незрозуміло, чому так сталося, а батько відмовлявся відповідати на будь які питання, тож вони вирішують знайти її самотужки, бо в якомусь сенсі вона замінювала їм маму, яка померла, коли народжувала молодшого з них.

Під час пошуків старший хлопець також весь час думає про те, щоб знайти спосіб гідно попрощатися з мамою. Він навіть складає лист з десяти способів, але жоден з них на перевірку не виявляється гідним і не знімає тягаря з його душі. Він продовжує шукати варіанти, але жоден не підходить. Поки вони продовжують пошуки старої татової подруги в їх житті поволі виникають нові люди, як от нова сусідка з їх нового будинку, яка приносить їм лазанʼю та добре ставиться до них та їхнього батька, але поки що вони цього не помічають, впевнені, що лише стара татова подруга здатна повернути гармонію до їх родини.

Зрештою вони її знаходять і навіть підлаштовують все так, щоб вони із батьком зустрілися. Зрештою звісно виявляється, що все було не так райдужно, як здавалося, але тепер хлопці це бачать.

Книга одночасно і глибока і досить примітивна, залежно від віку читача сприйматиметься по-різному. Люблю такі книги з подвійним дном, цікаво спостерігати, як вони можуть по-різному розкриватися. Перечитувати її не буду, але однозначно занесу у лист тих, що мені сподобалися.

Today I have another book review, and this time it's Lara Williamson's The Boy Who Drank the Ocean in a Chair.

The cover promises us an unusual story about courage, dreams and finding a way and specifies that the book is in the Ypung Adult category. Well, everything as I like.

In fact, it falls a little short of this category, or a lot short of it, and yet it is designed for younger readers. We are told the story of two boys aged 7 and 10. One night, the father woke them up, told them to urgently pack their things and moved them to a new house, where he wanted to start a new life without his girlfriend. The boys were at a complete loss as to why this happened, and the father refused to answer any questions, so they decided to find her on their own, because in a sense she was replacing their mother, who died while giving birth to the youngest of them.

During the search, the older boy is also constantly thinking about finding a way to say goodbye to his mother in a dignified way. He even makes a list of ten ways, but none of them proves to be worthy of verification and does not remove the burden from his soul. He continues to look for options, but none fit. As they continue to search for their father's old friend, new people slowly appear in their lives, such as the new neighbor from their new house, who brings them lasagna and is nice to them and their father, but for now they don't notice, sure that only the old dad's girlfriend is able to restore harmony to their family.

In the end, they find her and even arrange everything so that she and her father meet. In the end, of course, it turns out that everything was not as rosy as it seemed, but now the boys see it.

The book is both deep and quite primitive, depending on the age of the reader it will be perceived differently. I love double-bottomed books like this, it's interesting to see how they can open in different ways. I will not re-read it, but I will definitely put in the list those that I liked.
